Budget Would Eliminate Funds to Jail Illegal Aliens

Many Arkansans rejoiced when Rep. Tim Hutchinson's bill that would allow state law enforcement personnel the power to enforce federal immigration laws became law. Will anything be done with those new powers? A setback occurred recently when the administation's new budget proposed eliminating the federal government's reimbursement program to states and localities who house illegal immigrants that have been aprehended. Such a move is certainly tone-deaf considering the mood of the populace on the issue of illegal aliens.
