Win Rockefeller Passes On

Lt. Governor Win Rockefeller died peacefully this morning. He was a class act, and will be missed. He was a prime example of the "responsible rich" who lived his life as befitting someone meant to be a leader.

Rockefeller lived in Little Rock and at Winrock Farms on Petit Jean Mountain, where a plaque outside his home quotes Micah 6:8: "And what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" That scripture is also one of your writer's favorites. May God bless his soul. Amen.

Will there now have to be a special election? If so, what will that do to the Nov. election? An incumbent might make a difference.

Let's not focus on this just yet. A great man just passed. Let us remember his legacy at least for the remainder of the weekend.

In May 2005, Mark Moore (Moderator) said...

You seem to have a great capacity for trusting others. I am a little more jaded myself- I think a fellow who
1) held a planned parenthood fundraiser in his home....and

2) takes credit (in the very letter he tells us about his change of heart) for pro-life legislation that I know he had nothing or next to nothing to do with...and
3)discretely shops around a position that is short of being pro-life in a clear effort to ride the fence during the same time periodhe latter claims he had his "change of heart"...and
4) has supported the killing of babies throughout his career

.....might be willing to lie to me. Yes I can believe that.
Or maybe he is lying to himself, as so many are. Because being "pro-life" in today's GOP has become merely a feeling in your heart, not a commitment to any action. It just means that you 'feel bad' that so many babies are getting ripped up, not that you would spend any precious political capital trying to stop any of it. In fact, you only mention your feelings when it will GAIN you political capital.

Mark Moore is such a liar. He rips WinRock apart one day because he felt threatened by him, but when WinRock dies and Moore is no longer threatened he sucks up. Makes no sense. This is what we have to look forward too while Jim Holt is running for LtGov. Even though I am a diehard Reepublican I am happy that Halter has much more money that him. Did say I wanted Halter to win, but I would like the truths about Mark Moore and Jim Holt exposed!

I'm amazed that even the "anonymous" blowhards could so quickly turn a post meant to allow tributes to Win into a namecalling crybaby session. I think Mark's post was respectful & dosn't conflict with any previous statements about policy.

I didn't agree with Win on every issue, but no one who even remotely knew him could mistake his good heart & down to earth personality. His charity toward all is a fine example for the rest of us.
I for one will miss him.
