Protest Letter to Fox "News"

Dear Fox News,

I write this letter to protest your exclusion of Congressman Ron Paul from the upcoming New Hampshire candidate forum. This exclusion was done with no metrics given as a basis for the decision, and no wonder- no rational metric would exclude Paul. His levels of support, whether in poll support or cash raised, are greater than some which you are including in these events.

Additionally, your news coverage of the Iowa caucus repeatedly showed the results for the top four candidates while Ron Paul, who ran a fairly close 5th, was not shown or mentioned. That combined with the disrespectful treatment Dr. Paul has endured from some of your pundits (such as Hannity snickering over Paul at a previous debate or saying "Oh no, not again" when Dr. Paul won another text message poll) leads a reasonable person to conclude that Fox news is attempting to shape the news, not report it. This contradicts your "fair and balanced' mantra.

Some people in the media once thought they could make their own reality rather than report what reality was saying. Those people were the old mainstream media and CNN. Because they thought that, Fox had a chance to grow. Now you are making the same mistake that got CNN smashed by the old Fox, and CNN is now giving Ron Paul a fair shake while you are pushing establishment types that the voters have already rejected.

Soul search. Reconnect with your roots. Good luck.

Mark Moore

Yes, but at least ABC announced reasonable metrics, or cut-off criteria before hand. Now that actual votes have been cast they issue a prior set of guide lines that say "All candidates who meet one of these three may participate...."

FOX is not doing that. They are dumping Hunter and Paul without giving any criteria for inclusion- unless you want to say that "the candidate must be a member of the CFR or have the CFR President as their foreign policy advisory to participate".
