How to Do Airport Security

"… the procedure for Arabs and Muslims can often be lengthy and irritating, ending with a full body and baggage search. Visitors who have passport stamps from countries hostile to Israel are also questioned intensively in what can be a traumatic experience for the uninitiated."

Oh yes, by all means let's do this here! As long as it's someone else and not us why should we care!

Perhaps you prefer that EVERYONE's wife and daughter be subjected to feel-ups or naked body scans suitable for internet publishing?

But I favor Ron Paul's position of giving the airlines wide leeway in what they want to do for security and letting the customer decide which is right for them. One airline can do the scanners/feel-ups. Another can use El-Al's method. Another can have minimal screening.

Let's try freedom.

Homeland Security was created FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. Is it not obvious now that it is being rolled out before our eyes. Next these scanners will be popping up at courhouses, malls, train stations, etc. We the sheeple must be protected from we the sheeple.

There are "threat fusion centers" in place now in every state which "watch trends" (i.e. politically active people who could be "terrorists"). These fusion centers are the current day gestapo information gathering centers.

Until a mass awakening occurs to the fact that the government stages terror in order to strip us of our liberties then we the sheeple will continue to be herded into whatever pen they want to herd us - including into their internment camps ("FEMA Camps") they are building for us.

Hitler staged terror and burned the Reichstag which led to him becoming dictator. Now we are reliving history.

Mark, seriously? You think the TSA scans are suitable for internet publishing"? What sites are you going to? You need to get Cox high-speed internet! There are a lot better quality pics out there than these TSA scans.

As for Ron Paul's position I think you've really misrepresented it. What Dr. Paul advocates is that the role of the TSA, airport security, be turned back to the private sector. He does NOT ask that we stop the full body scans.

"I support full body scans at airports."

He DOES however object to the pat downs.

Let's try checking our facts!

I guess you don't have a wife or daughter? It's the power to humiliate, and the degradation and immodesty of it. It's no consolation to me if my wife and daughter are not the best porn out there.

You are not quoting Dr. Paul when you put quotes around "I support full body scans at airports", but rather the poster, steveorama. Paul wants the free market to decide what security measure to take, which may mean body scanners on some airlines but not others. Someone will find an effective, low cost solution and the others will copy it, maybe even improve it.

No, I am representing Paul's position quote accurately.

Anyone who is interested look up Dr. Paul's writing and the new ACT he has introduced. Enough said there.

But as a serviceman myself I would hate to have our efforts and blood on the field minimized while the enemy takes the war to us here at home. So far we have lost about 7,000 brave soldiers to this war. In ONE day the enemy took 3000 people. How many of these "days" do you need to just buck up, stop exaggerations, pandering with this "wife and daughter" silliness, and move on?

BTW: I have both and want both to arrive at their destination safe and sound. Not picking up the little fragments of their bodies like the husbands and fathers of 9/11.

I will save people the trouble of looking up Paul's writings and the act. Here is a You Tube video where he is introducing it....

I was the spokesman in Arkansas for his 08 Presidential run. I am not misrepresenting his position.

I take offense to the suggestion that I am just "pandering" when I want to keep my wife and daughter from being groped or photographed basically naked. Your attempts to tie what has occurred on foreign battlefields into your justification to violate citizen's rights here at home smacks more of pandering.

Those servicemen should be fighting to protect our rights, using their service as some kind of rationalization to violate them is an insult to that service. And yes, I served in my youth.

If you feel like you are willing to subject your wife and daughter to that for security, you should be permitted to fly an airline that performs those checks. If I feel like it is an unnecessary and expensive violation of the 4th amendment then I should be free to send them on airlines that don't perform grope/scans.

Why can't we both get what we want? That's called freedom, and it once was a popular idea.

PS- the terrorist criminals sucker-punched us once, and we have now sealed off the cockpits and armed the pilots. We have not had another 9/11 since. Abortion is a 9/11 every day. Any comment on what sacrifices we should make to stop that bloodshed?

We have lost 7,000 soldiers on the alter of the military industrial complex and war profiteering, not the defense of this country. It's sad and maddening that our soldiers have died in vain.

If the "war on terror" was a real war then our troops would seal our borders. As it is our troops (and I'll grant you their bravery, I was one once myself) are walking the streets of middle eastern countries that do not want us there while Mexican terrorists and illegal aliens have invaded this country en masse. Muslim terrorists can easily broach our southern border as have millions of latinos.

But our military is not focused on the defense of our borders. Instead the military industrial complex is setting up checkpoints within our borders and groping our wives and daughters (allegedly to keep us safe, of course).

If keeping us safe was the goal then our borders would be secured.

The real purpose is to condition the public that public searches are normal. That government goons have to search everyone to keep us safe from men in caves such as Osama Bin Laden (who was a CIA operative known as Tim Osmond).
