Using OPC to get OPM

Fayetteville School District uses the band, choir, and pep squad as props at a rally to get a 25% increase in the school millage rate passed. The election will be held September 15th. The funds will be used for a high school that will be at least twice as expensive as the palatial Har-Ber High School in Springdale.

Many have made a fuss over President* Barack Obama's proposed address to all of the nation's school children on Sept. the 8th. The original study guide for the event required the student's to ask themselves what they could do to help President Obama.

It seems that statists are very big on using Other People's Children (OPC) to get access to Other People's Money (OPM). The band, choir, pep squad, and all other student groups should not be used as props for one political position. They're not their kids.

Reading the ballot in advance would be a good idea. That, and other thoughts, here:

I understand they had a sign-up sheet, that it was not mandatory for the students to attend, but they could attend if they wanted to.

I look forward to the day when they give prayer and bible reading in schools the same treatment.

Imposing higher taxes IS these folks' religion - it's not about education. It's about building an empire and keeping it going.
