I understand that State Legislators are paid on a part-time basis, and it is necessary for them to have another source of income. Yet being a Lobbyist-Legislator is very unethical.
A Legislator is supposed to represent the people of his or her district. A paid Lobbyist works to get Legisators to pass bills that will benefit their employer. The two mix like strawberries and mustard.
Matthew 6:24 states, "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one,and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God andmammon."
It makes me wonder which master does Randy Laverty love, and which one he hates.
Wait a minute....This is clearly an ethics violation. Clearly a conflict of interests. It can't get any more blatant.
This is the type of governance that has gotten us into this mess.
