Regardless of varying opinions on the federal bankruptcy reform bill, Pro-Lifers can be thankful that the Schumer Amendment failed to be attached to the recently passed legislation, no thanks to Sens. Lincoln and Pryor. From FRC.org :As you know, pro-life activists who have peacefully picketed or prayed at abortion clinics have been prosecuted or hit with civil lawsuits and ordered to pay huge fines. Some have been forced to use bankruptcy protection to save their property and protect their family. Now Sen. Charles Schumer of New York has introduced an amendment to the bankruptcy reform bill that specifically prevents pro-life activists from using bankruptcy protection. His amendment only applies to pro-life protesters. Other protesters will still be able to use bankruptcy laws. Is this fair in America - are we second-class Americans?Apparently, Arkansas' two senators think so: they both voted in favor of it. Do you think these two would dare vote for legislation that denied bankruptcy protection for homosexuals who protest? Pro-abortionists? Yet these two southern senators have no qualms about attacking pro-life constituents like this. This type of legislation is draconian! Be sure to call them and let them know what you think of their opinions of pro-lifers...
