Someone just sent me the following press release on Holt declaring for Lt. Governor. You may recall that Jim received nearly 70 percent of the vote in a three-way Republican primary race when he ran for U.S. Senate last year. I know Senator Holt needs all our prayers. I, myself, pray for him daily because as I said before, this race is not about Jim Holt; it is about whether a person can initiate and vote real Christian values and still survive in politics. Winning or losing that battle will determine the survival of our nation and Christian heritage.

Of course, the media and opponents have and will still continue to heap every type of insult on Senator Holt because they, too, know what is at stake. I think they figured it out before the Christians. Their fear of that is driving their assaults on Senator Holt. They are afraid the people have found a leader who won't back down despite all the insults and that he just might help the people take back some control of policy in Arkansas and fulfill our motto: "The people rule." My prayer is that the PEOPLE WILL PRAY - AND ACT.

If you haven't noticed, the biggest critics in the media of Jim Holt have been the editorialists with the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. Almost every day their editorialists write articles promoting homosexuality - today's article endorsing the bill to make homosexuality part of civil rights which would give homosexuals special privileges. Holt is the only legislator that has taken an open, public, strong stand on this homosexual issue. No wonder they spend so much time opposing him!

HOLT TO RUN FOR LT. GOVERNOR

LITTLE ROCK – State Sen. Jim Holt is announcing his candidacy for lieutenant governor of Arkansas.

An Arkansas native, Holt served one term in the House and is serving in his second session of the Senate.

“I’m so grateful for the trust the voters have placed in me in electing me to both the House and the Senate. This experience has served as a valuable training ground for the position of lieutenant governor,” Holt says. “People from all over the state, regardless of party, have encouraged me to run because they want the strongest candidates possible for governor and lieutenant governor.”

Although outspent 60 to one in his U.S. Senate race against incumbent Blanche Lincoln, Holt surprised many of the state’s political pundits by receiving more than 44 percent of the vote in November – thanks to strong grassroots support.

Holt promises that his campaign for lieutenant governor will not be about party politics; instead, he pledges to defend the constitutional rights that Arkansans hold dear.

“This is a pivotal time in Arkansas,” Holt says. “It’s a time to remember those values that have made Arkansas such a great place to live and then build upon that foundation.”

So it looks like Asa Hutchinson vs. Winn Rockefeller for Governor on the GOP side. Mike Bebee on the Democratic side. Both Hutchinson and Rockefeller have baggage that will hurt them with voters. Rockefeller has a pro-choice record (though getting his definite opinion on anything controversial has been a challenge). Hutchinson did a terrible job enforcing the borders- though he may only have been doing what his open-borders boss wanted.

Holt is a maverick that the GOP establishment hates. I would not be surprised if they drummed up some opposition for him in spite of his stellar resume for the position. He could have challenged those two for governor.

The team of the Lt. Governor and Senator Holt in the next election would be hard to beat. They might even give Arkansas back to the people!

Deltaconservative,

He went to the Delta a fair amount in his Senate campaign. That was right into his opponents stronghold, yet he did not write it off. I feel certain that he will keep visiting after the election. I know he would be perfect for a job that involves travelling the state and connecting with people. He can explain why conservative ideas are the only ones that really work
