THE CONSTITUTION PARTY OF ARKANSAS

...will hold its 2005 Convention in Little Rock on Saturday Sept. 10th. We have a very exciting program of speakers and entertainment lined up. Our Keynote Speaker will be the former National Field Director of the Constitution Party, Cal Zastrow.

Cal has led ministry teams smuggling bibles into Communist China, and was an associate of the baby-saving group, Operation Rescue. Cal is currently serving as the Constitution Party’s Mid-Western States Regional Chairman, which includes his home in Michigan. We look forward to his report and an exhortation on the theme “Living Liberty”.

Also on the program is our own Mayor Frank Gilbert of Tull in Grant County. The Mayor is quite frankly a more gifted public speaker than any person that either of the establishment parties in this state can offer.

Laurie Taylor, parent-turned-activist, has also agreed to give a report on the appalling situation with taxpayer-supported porn in Fayetteville (and possibly other) school libraries.

Entertainment will be provided by vocalist Taylor Galloway. She will be fresh off her audition for the popular television show, American Idol. Taylor is currently a sophomore at the University of Central Arkansas with a major in the performing arts. She is an extremely talented young lady who has performed at the national Constitution Party convention.

We also have important business to attend to. Members will elect a new Executive Committee to lead the party through the 06 election cycle.

The event will be held on September 10th in the Palisades Room of the DoubleTree Hotel at 424 West Markham Street in Little Rock. The time is six to nine PM. Dinner will be served. Dress is semi-formal to office casual.

Registration for this event is $25 a plate. There is a parking deck behind the hotel which charges $1.50 an hour.
The number of seats is limited.

Can Jim Holt get any money during the convention? I don't have much money, but I just sent Jim $100.00. Can y'all ask folks to give to Jim at your meeting?

Jim will have to ask them himself. Many of us have contributed to Jim in the past. I am sure we will again. I applaud your contribution.

Since the law gives a $50 state tax credit to people running for state office, a person really ought to at least give that much to whoever they support.

I doubt it. He is so busy these days that he can't even attend all of the Republican events that he would like to.

He is? What keeps him busy? Has he found a job yet? I mean the guy doesn't really do anything, does he?

Well, he does not have time to post on blog sites either, so I suppose he is busier than you or I.

Senator Holt is on one of the more active committees which I believe must meet year-round. He is attending Republican functions as he runs for Lt. Governor. He is raising money. He is involved with local issues- like the SAMS Club Liqour license controversy. He has done some groundwork on getting ballot intiatives together on things like SB206. If the politicians won't pass laws that 3/4th of the citizens want, he thinks we should go directly to the people. I think there is no way he can do the initiated acts and run for Lt. Gov. successfully, so I hope he drops it for now and focuses on running.

He is also the only public official I know of who has stood with Laurie Taylor in a forum for the general public on this book issue. Yes, some books ought to be banned, if not from all society then at least from public school libraries. Holt and Taylor are not even going that far, but I would.

It is not a question of free speech- the speech is not free if it is in a taxpayer-supported facility. The managers of such facilites (librarians) ought to have some sensitivity and accountablilty to the public. I know that many of them want to be completely autonomous, but few of us are and most of those wind up getting in trouble because of it. But I digress. Holt also has a large family that needs his attention.

Mark, Thanks for the greatest convention going, If people were to realize that within their souls most of them are truly constitutionalists, they would make sure to never vote any other way. For more information to folks who dont see our Government as it should be go to. http://www.cparkansas.org/
