Red Alert! The Lady and I want to warn you against seeing "The Constant Gardener". The previews made it seem like it was going to be an "action-thriller". It was sadly lacking in both. In the preview they must have shown every action scene in that movie twice.

For over two hours they made you think something dramatic was ABOUT to happen. It never did. The woman lead of the movie, shown in a series of flashbacks that included pregnant nudity, was a loud, opinionated leftist who the movie assured us was loved by all, but who I found to be extremely unlikeable.

There was an overall dearth of decent films. For the other offerings, they were not even able to come up with a decent preview! One of the movies in the preview was something called "Broken Back Mountain". It was about two homosexual cowboys who led a secret life together. The majority of members of the sparse audience, me included, laughed outloud at the preview. That is how lame it was.

This was an example of Hollyweird making a movie that they KNOW is going to lose money, just because they want to hammer the heartlands with their "message". I predict it will do well with gay-cowboy audiences and flop with everyone else.

The other previews also showed liberal overtones, but were not as memorably awful.

Speaking of entertainment, my boss made the observation that the new "Commander and Chief" TV show was Hollyweird's effort to get us sympathetic to the idea of Hillary Clinton as the next President. Does that sound plausible to you dear reader?

Re: Commander in Chief

Perhaps, but with the crummy shows on TV, they'll pull out all the tricks from their dusty bag. Looked like crummy previews to me. Desperate Housewives is a fun show; Lost bores me. Thank goodness for Cardinals games and football. At least bad television allows me to get my reading done. The Cards and Reds are ready to close out the life of Busch this weekend. Now that's good television!

Here's one for the funny bone, Hollywood has released the first ever gay slasher movie, called Hellbent it says in the tag line below, when the night belongs to the Devil, the party goes to Hell. Amen to that statement. Here's what the official website has to say on the film, this is true stuff, which is unbelievable proof that there is a real national agenda hard at work to influence and draw young people into the gay lifestyle.

HELLBENT is the terrifying original new feature from writer/ director Paul Etheredge-Ouzts and Joseph Wolf, the co-creator of such horror classics as Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Taking place at the famed West Hollywood Halloween Carnival, there is a serial killer on the loose. A group of four gay friends will have to fight for their lives to make it through a night where flamboyant costumes, beautiful people, drugs, music, dancing and sex are everywhere.

A wild, relentless ride that combines winning and appealing characters, unexpected surprises, and shocking scares, HELLBENT is a refreshing new classic for the horror genre.

One for Ripley's Believe it or Not.
