Apparently, Morning News columnist David Sanders noted the problem earlier this week after visiting Beebe's official campaign website and downloading a document under "Press Kit" which listed the author as "ARAG" (Arkansas Attorney General).
In the DemGaz, Beebe is quoted saying that he will take "full responsibility" for the charge. What will that be? How serious is this violation of campaign law? Beebe Campaign Spokesman Chris Masingill thinks that "this is truly much ado about nothing," whereas Reed says that "any violation of state law is a big deal..." What are AW bloggers' opinions?
Bloggers here and elsewhere have previously noted Beebe's blurring of the line separating the campaign trail with his duties as AG, such as his tour of the state, supposedly to educate people on burning issues like Medicaid fraud, just prior to officially announcing his bid for governor in the '06 elections.
Excellent, love it! »
