Don't Call Us- We Won't Call You

Those of you who may have tried to leave a message for one of your Senators may know that someone has made a decision not to man the in-session phones. There is no way to leave a message to your public servants. Apparently they can't take time out to get messages from the people who elected them. The House number is up.

Please don't tell me it is a "cost saving" measure. They are down there spending hundreds of millions of dollars, but they don't want to pay three operators for a week to take messages? They could probably get pages to do it for nothing.

What are they so busy with that they don't have time to hear from us?

That doesn't do much good if your Representative is out of the country on an expense-paid junket, either.

House number is 501-682-7771. We're open for business and are taking and returning calls.

Thank you House Member. We appreciate your service. The article did note that the House number was up, but did not give it.

Don't be too generous with your thanks. Although I faithfully read this blog on a daily basis and am sympathetic to many of your beliefs, I am a D.

For those who were not counted on minimum wage:

"Vacation over Voting" is Mark Martin's motto. Twice.

"Vacillation over Voting" is the motto of Charles Ormond, Rick Green, Roy Ragland, and Bill Pritchard. Twice.

And where was Cinco Matayo when the roll was called yesterday? He left Johnny Key as the only man with the courage to cast a vote against undermining free enterprise.

What does the reference "Cinco Matayo" mean? Does that mean he is a Mexican lover?

6:39 AM, April 07, 2006
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Of course that means he's a Mexican lover. He happens to love all races as opposed to the people on this site, who hate all Mexicans.

I heard that Doug Matayo voted AGAINST the state minimum wage. Did he change his vote?

Matayo voted against the House version at first, then he was a NOT VOTING on the Senate version, which is the one that will become law on Monday. No guts.

Well, he was for it before he was against it!

No doubt the Mad Dogs will come on here and say Jim "flipped-flopped" on Pre-K because when he was a rookie legislator he voted for a bill that (unknown to him) had pre-K in it that was not called by that name. He has consistently stood against it for his whole career and voted against it from that point on.

No doubt they will try to make some case for moral equivilence between that and flip-flopping within 24 hours, as Doug did on this one.

To put it delicately, Northwest Arkansas was not well-served by some of our local legislators during the special session.

Doug Matayo showed some courage, then caved in and backed down on the minimum wage hike.

Bill Pritchard did a complete Flip-Flop on Commission on School Facilities, voting against it on Tuesday then voting FOR it on Friday.

Mark Martin was AWOL for the whole session. According to his apologists, he thought a trip to Pakistan was more important than representing his constituents.

Surely, we can do better than these three stooges. Fortunately we soon will have a chance.

Fortunately for all of us, Jim Holt will be out of politics for good after next month. Most of us are counting the minutes. It really shouldn't be a big change for him anyway, since he never even bothers to show up in the Senate.

Johnny Key is a good man. By the way, I worked with several Latino Americans on Holt's 2004 senate race. They don't think he's racist, and had even pooled their money to pay for a billboard advertising Holt's campaign. Maybe they need some liberal white apologists to set them straight?

Where's the billboard for this race? Maybe they've bailed since he started freaking out about ILLEGALS!
HOlt's problem on Pre-k is that it's just one more example of not reading before voting. It happens with him over and over. And frankly, there are as many (if not more) Republicans for raising minimum wage and against. But very few Republicans think Pre-k is a good idea.

Ah, the apologist has spoken! Holt has remained consistent in his position on illegals. He isn't "freaking out." He simply isn't a global socialist like you.

Holt hasn't been consistent on anything. He tried to get taxpayers to pay for midwives because their clients couldn't afford to, even though they all admitted their clients were illegals. He voted to fund Pre-K, which helps many illegals with free daycare. But now he has changed and is starting to look like he's against illegals, when he's done nothing but try to help them. That doesn't sound consistent to me.

No one has ever answered the question about why no one is donating to Jim's campaign. You seem to always talk about how popular this guy is, but no one will give him any money. Why is that? I have a feeling that Jim Bob had to buy Holt's signs. I don't think that is legal.

I would like to point out a situation that I just became informed of. Several people have caught someone pulling up Matayo signs and replacing them with Holt signs, and also using Matayo's fence posts. This has been happening all over NWA. That is a sin and also a crime. Unless these people would like to be all over the news, then I advise them to stop.

If this is not a hoax then my guess is that Doug did not tell the property owner that he was running against Jim. When they found out, they took his sign down and put up a Holt sign.

That would be a great reason if several people hadn't seen it happen. They are also using Matayo fence posts. That is stealing. Other business owners that have been talked to said that one night they left and Matayo's sign was out and the next morning it was gone and Holt's was there. They are now taking down the Holt signs and putting Matayo's back.

ey anonymous slimer:

The Holt campaign is not doing what you are accusing us of. If you have any evidence GO TO THE POLICE AND THE MEDIA. Until then, keep your garbage off this blog. Matayo's partisans make one false accusation after another against Jim and it is getting REALLY tiresome.

Jim Holt has been putting up signs for years and there has NEVER been an accusation like this from any of his opponents. Only the Matayo camp starts hallucinating that Jim Holt is doing all of these terrible things.

GROW UP. If you have any real evidence instead of just more anonymous libel then go to the media and the police with it. And GO AWAY from this blog until you get the courage and integrity to put your REAL NAME with some REAL EVIDENCE on this guano you keep throwing out about Jim.

Got it?

The only proof I need is that this has happened to a family member. One night their Matayo sign was in their yard and the next morning it was gone and replaced by a Holt sign. If that wasn't done by the Holt camp, then who did it? I also heard from several businesses that said the same thing. Do you think it's just a coincidence? I don't. If this was being done to Holt, you would be screaming, and you know it. It's dirty and it has to stop.

Speaking of names, can anyone tell me who is running against Mark Martin? I'd like to know what he believes about government and whether he would actually show up when the legislature is in session. I think we can do alot better than Mark Martin, who is a frequent embarrassment, but I know nothing about his opponent. Does he have a chance?
