Matayo Flyers Worse than Pulled Ads

Frontrunner Jim Holt is getting attacked from all sides in the hysteronic final days of the Lt. Governor's race. Now there are reports of "attack flyers" being handed out door-to-door by supporters of Representative Doug Matayo that make the attack ads that Chuck Banks was compelled to pull seem downright accurate. Matayo himself distributed the flyer's at Republican events. The flyer's make claims like...

"Holt Says one thing: Record Says Another

Holt says he wants to deny illegal immigrants state funded health care but Holt sponsored SB 991 of 2005 which would have expanded state services for illegal immigrants to have their children delivered by midwives at taxpayer expense."

Now the truth is that Holt did not want to provide midwives ONLY for illegal immigrants at taxpayer expense, but for everyone now using medicare. Matayo's position is as ridiculous as saying that since illegal aliens use roads if you vote to fund a highway then you are giving taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens. It is absurd as saying that since you voted to improve fire protection, and the firement would rescue even illegal aliens, then you are for taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens.

Holt's bill would actually have helped control spiraling medical costs and improve rural citizen's access to health care. Midwives can come to the home for those without reliable transportaion, and many of these people would otherwise use an emergency room as a delivery service and stick the rest of us with the tab. The mid-wife option is a cost saver.

Another example of a misleading claim from the flyer:
"Holt pledged he would never vote for taxes. He has voted for over 30 million per year in new taxes SB 576 of 2001 and SB 776 in 2003."

Holt has voted for exactly one tax in his career- a "temporary" beer tax when he was a rookie legislator. He has voted against its renewal ever since. The other vote was a clerical error. Holt never cast that vote, and a note in the physical record book of the clerk states that. The new clerk should never have treated a voice vote like a roll-call vote.

The other stuff in Matayo's hit piece was misleading as well, but it would be a full time job answering every false charge hurled at Jim Holt, and I am no longer in that line of work.

It is obvious that Matayo knows the people are with Holt's views and he has only one choice, "Fool the people." It has worked well in the legislature, so why not use it on the campaign trail. Being Huckabee's floor leader gave Matayo a lot of experience. Remember the article on all the devious ways Huckabee pushed thrugh the non smoking ban. This is entirely typical of how they do everything under the sun to fool the people.

And people try to accuse Holt supporters of lying. Wow!

It gets worse.

I forgot to add to the claim that "Holt pledged that he would never vote for new taxes"- that pledge was made in 2004. Matayo deceptively makes it look like Holt broke his word by voting to raise taxes in 01.

Holt took the "no tax" pledge in the 04 cycle and it is disenginuous to imply that he "violated the pledge" he took in 04 by citing something he did in 01.

It is just layered on so thick that it is difficult to catch every layer of trickery.

Oh quit it Mark.

You know as well as anyone that the commitee to hear about midwives heard that a good portion of their income would come from illegal immigrants.

It is comical that you defend Holt against the Banks and Matayo "attacks", but you say nothing about the outlandish distortions of Debbie Pelley and Iris Stevens against Matayo.

And these women are sending the attack e-mails under the heading of something along the lines of "The Women's Prayer and Action Team" or some such nonsense.

I'm shocked that Debbie Pelley would send out an email slamming Doug Matayo. That doesn't seem like her.
I wonder how the AFA would feel if they knew she was still using their email list.

When was this, because I can assure you that this is an outright lie. Please give me a date and event.

"Frontrunner Jim Holt is getting attacked from all sides in the hysteronic final days of the Lt. Governor's race"

What you meant to say is: Frontrunner Jim Holt is getting hysterical as he sees his numbers slipping due to unexpected press and an NRA endorsement for Doug Matayo.

I wish I could be a fly on the wall to see the Holt campaign spinning and running in all directions.

"It is absurd as saying that since you voted to improve fire protection, and the firement would rescue even illegal aliens, then you are for taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens."

But if you are consistent with your beliefs, then why haven't you called for a law banning fire protection for illegal aliens? And also police protection? These are services paid for by the tax payers, and therefore any protection they provide to an illegal, needs to stop immediately. I guess this will be next. If there is a fire at the home of an illegal and people are trapped inside, then we should just let them burn. That is the view of Holt and his supporters.

You simply don't know what you are talking about. "Public benefits" has been defined by federal law. Emergency medical and resucue services are NOT defined as "public benefits", therefore cutting off "public benefits" to illegals does not include fire protection.

We should put the fire out, save their lives, then ship them back.

Big difference: Banks authorized those ads. How do you know Matayo authorized these? How do you know they weren't created by someone else? Did you ask him? My guess is no.

Of course they didn't ask Matayo. You would have to be a man before you would do the right thing and confirm were they came from before accusing someone of doing it. Was Matayo's name anywhere on the flyer? You've already lied when you said Matayo was handing these out himself at campaign events, so why would anyone believe anything else you have to say? I have a feeling these flyers don't even exist. I have a feeling that you made these yourself.

Can someone please answer the question that was asked at 10:05? Or is this another example of when you make a false accusation and then hide when someone asks for the proof. You are NEVER able to back up your allegations. You spout off lies and then refuse to answer for those lies.

I forget, maybe just to hack you off, but I remember a trusted source telling me about it. And do you deny his campaigners are handing them out to people? if his campaigners are handing them out door to door and at events, he is responsible even if he is careful about not personally giving them out.

So in other words, when Holt supporters have been caught stealing signs, then Holt is personally responsible? And yes, they've been caught. There's been 3 occasions when different people have ran out into their yard when they saw the sign being pulled out. Holt sticker on the back of the car. Not hard to put two and two together. I also have a trusted source telling me that Holt supporters are responsible for pulling up signs and still having those signs in their possession. You still can't believe everything you hear. You have to know it for a fact.

I absolutely deny any flyers being handed out at campaign events. How many times have I heard a Holt campaign worker say "we can't be responsible for what our supporters do"? I've heard Jim and his wife say it several times.

You know you lied and you know you got caught. I still believe you made the flyers up yourself. Debbie Pelley's lying emails are so much worse than this stupid flyer. Her emails are full of lies and I've had people all over the state forward them to me because they were so hacked off about them. She's lost a whole lot of votes for Jim Holt because of her lies.

And to answer the question at 10:03. The AFA is very curious about Debbie Pelley's email list. They will be taking action if she is using the email list from AFAA.

You continue to come on here anonymously and gratitously accuse people of lying.

If you have some witnesses, then PRESS CHARGES. Whatever happened to your ethics complaint about Holt using his signs from his previous campaign? Why haven't you filed that yet? Why haven't you filed any of them? All you do is accuse and when it is time for you to put up you never can.

And as usual, you got things bass ackwards. The AFA benefitted from Debbie's email list- not vice versa.

I am not familiar with bass getting anything ackwards.

What does that mean?

I am not a proficient fishermen but if I got my hands on some ackwards bass I think that would be quite a catch. Of course they would probably vote for Holt because he doens't have even a hunting license

Mark Moore: In your thread, you say "Matayo distributed the flyers at Republican events". Then you say, he is responsible even if he is careful about not handing them out himself . Which one is it Mark? You have been caught lying again. You either saw him hand one out or you didn't. If you saw him hand one out, then why didn't you post this much earlier since you have not been to any events in at least a month, if not more!?! Debbie Pelley posted the whole thing and I only see the truth. There is nothing wrong with sticking to the issues.
