Huckabee Congratulates Donors for Expanding Gambling in Arkansas

The Arktimes has the sickening story.

Excerpt: "Note that congratulations were bestowed by Gov. Mike Huckabee, an avowed gambling opponent, who didn't even wait the statutory five days to announce that he would not veto the narrowly passed 2005 legislation that cleared the decks for video poker and blackjack and slot machine-type wagering at Oaklawn and Southland. (Incidentally, this legislation guarantees wide gambling options for any Indian tribes able to clear federal regulatory hurdles to open a casino in Arkansas, our nominal constitutional prohibition on gambling notwithstanding.)

The Cellas took care of Huckabee before Hot Springs. Their investment company made a $10,000 contribution to his presidential exploratory PAC several months ago. Er, excuse us. We meant his PAC to encourage healthier living in America"

There was a moment back there when I thought that the Huck had a shot at prez. Now, he'd need more luck than a slot machine addict.

If he thinks he can run for President, he's seriously mistaken. I'm a Republican and I wouldn't even vote for him; I'd stay at home on election day. Make that PRIMARY election day, that is if he didn't drop out before then from lack of support. Huckabee is becoming a John McCain and in the words of Ann Coulter, I'd support him if Democrats didn't.

The libs over at Arktimes blog are rallying the troops to threaten boycotts of sponsors of "The Road to 9/11." Arktimes knows it's utter liberal hypocrisy, that's why there's no text to the thread, only a link to the ABC Network's feedback page.

I believe in a philosophy that a mans dignity is raised by how well he can live within his means. Gambling on the other hand like welfare takes dignity away. If you can support your family off of the 4% allowed winnings from the casino then go for it if you must. Just keep it out of my State where the majority of the people are struggling to live within even a modest means. If huckabee can control the air air we breath I suppose he also sees no problem with us health ignorant losing our money to his gaming.
