Rasmussen: Beebe 49-41: Gap Closes by 2

Rumour is that Rasmussen has a new poll out. Information about the margin of error is lacking. It shows the race 49-41 Beebe, a gap of 8 percentage points. The last time this poll was taken about two weeks ago it showed a gap of ten points, 50-40 Beebe. As far as we know, the two other candidates are not listed in this poll.

Once again, the election appears close, with Beebe having a slight edge going into the final stretch. If the Republican Voter Targeting and Turnout operation is what it has been cracked up to be, I expect a near photo-finish with the winner possibly getting under 50% of the vote.

I smell pure desperation on this blog. A new poll comes out that is statistically the exact same number as a previous one done by the same firm and y'all are proclaiming that the race is getting close!!

ROFLMAO!!!!!!

That's right folks, hang on to anything to keep yourself pysched up.

We don't have to. We know Asa is winning and WILL win. Beebe will be the loser on election day and that, you liberal moron, you can take to the bank.

Hutchinson is down by 8 points with less than 2 weeks to go. He has a lot less money than Beebe, and he has never cracked 42 percent in any poll except the dubious Zogby internet polls, where he once got 45 percent. Huckabee did indeed attack Beebe, on a day when Beebe and his family suffered a great personal tragedy. Classy.

If you're optimstic, that's fine, but I think it's misplaced. Here's my prediction of the final result: Beebe 52, Hutchinson 45, Lendall 2, Bryan 1.

By the way, I'd be interested to hear some analysis or thoughts on how anyone thinks the LR mayor's race will affect the statewide race. It will certainly increase turnout in Democratic LR, probably in historically black districts, given the remarkable turnout for the recent LR school board election.

Just remember the same thing was said about Gov Perdue in Georgia. He was behind 49-42 in early October and then 48-39 by mid October. On the day before the election a WSB-TV poll had it 51-40 in Gov Barnes favor. But Perdue ended up winning 51.4-46.3 a near reversal. So it can happen and there is a very good chance it will here in Arkansas.

I didn't say I was excited. I said I expect a near-photo finish. I don't know the final outcome, but Beebe is not going to win it by 8.

Put your name on the prediction and it will be more meaningful. I am not ready to make a prediction in this race yet. Check with me three days before "E"-day.
