Lottery Jackpot

Far left and far right converge when it comes to our lofty state lottery. The Sheriff of Grant County gets hired as "Security Director" at a salary far in excess of the Chief of the State police. I don't have to complain about it, our friends on the far left at ArkTimes are doing an admirable job of it.

All of this is far worse than anything that happened on Huck's watch: a $300K+ salary for the ED, $200K+ salaries for his out-of-state buds to "assist" (wink, wink), and $100K+ for "security" (wink, wink) who happens to hail from the Board Chairman's home county. And the Security person making more than the ASP Director. It all smacks of good 'ol boyism, cronyism, and rascalism. What kind of security do you think will be necessary? Has anyone ever tried to rob a Lottery ED or office anywhere?
Democrat legislators would have been all over Huckabee for far less, particularly fat-cat, I-never-met-a-lobbyist-paid-meal-I-didn't-like Sen. Terry Smith. And we haven't even collected a dime in lottery money yet (they're currently operating on a $6 million "loan" from the State Treasury). Just wait until the money starts rolling in, and it will, and you will see even more shenanigans.
There's a reason Arkansas is #50 in many categories. One party, good 'ol boy control doesn't bode well for the State.

Ernie P. new the rules. His non-VP hires have all been associates of Sen. Bob Johnson or Ray Thornton.
