Payback Coming for Baker Backing Dem

How does one best describe payback?
***********************************
Benton County Judge Dave Bisbee was once a state senator, and in line to be President Pro Tem. Senator Gilbert Baker, also the Republican Party State Chairman at the time, made a deal with a Democrat faction. Four central Arkansas Republican Senators, led by Baker, split with the four from NWA to put in the Democrat over Bisbee 18-17.

Now Baker is running for U.S. Senate in the Republican primary, and there are a lot of votes up here in NWA. Bisbee has announced that he will work to defeat Baker.

Your thoughts?

Mark,

From what I remember, its been awhile, the reason Gilbert Baker supported Jack Critcher is because Jack is more conservative than Bisbee. I know Jack Critcher to be conservative on most issues and even though I am Republican I would have supported Jack also.

Baker,Is a compromiser... He compromises the way the wind blows in his favor. Baker does not represent the Conservatives in our state and He does not support small businesses in Arkansas.
Therefore, as you can see. I don't support Baker on any position. He needs to go get a job in the private sector. Remember if you can't trust someone with small things. then you can't trust them with large things.

Anon, this begs the question, what in your opinion has Baker compromised and what policies has he supported that prove him to be anti small business? And tell me the small things he can't be trusted with. I'm curious who you support in this race.

I remember the Bisbees when they came to Repub meetings. You'd have thought they were some kind of royalty ! I hope Baker beats the fire out of all of them.

Baker was head of the GOP state party at the time. His job (he was paid) was to advance the party having Bisbee as head of senate would have done just that. Baker put his self interest above that of the party period end of story

Anon,

What Gilbert done was stick to his beliefs. Most people would want their politician's to do the right thing each time a decision has to be made and not tow the Political Party line. You can't have it both ways. Should Gilbert have done whatever the Party wanted instead of what was the right thing to do? The obvious answer is no. The facts are Jack Critcher is and was more conservative than Bisbee and Gilbert made the right decision.

If Baker had not been the head of the GOP i would agree with you! However he was elected to promote the GOP and he did not do that. He was the GOP state chairman do you not understand that

Sure I understand that Baker was the State Chairman. I also understand that you believe that his responsibilities as State Chairman should override any responsibilities as State Senator. I disagree with that and I guess his constituents who re-elected him disagree with you.

Please, please-- let's not use re-election as an indicator of voter satisfaction, as it is definitely not.

But I agree with you, Rick.

That was a picture of a female dog, which also happens to be a term used to describe "payback". Get it?
