How the GOP Base Feels
The socialist Daily Kos has a poll out on how self-identified Republicans feel. They were horrified at the results, even though real Americans would love it!
An example:
The Daily Kos did not have any results from people like me- independents because the GOP has gone too far left.
An example:
Do you believe your state should secede from the United States?
Yes 23
No 58
Not Sure 19
42 percent of Republicans aren't really patriotic. They pretend to love America only when they approve of the president. These traitors don't believe in democracy, in our nation's founding ideals, or in our flag. To them, those colors run. They are cowards.
Note, secession sentiment is MUCH stronger in the South than elsewhere -- 33 percent want out, compared to just 52 percent who want to stay. In the Northeast, "just" 10 percent want out, in the Midwest, its 18 percent, and in the West, it's 16 percent. The Daily Kos did not have any results from people like me- independents because the GOP has gone too far left.

In your post, you say at the end, "The Daily Kos did not have any results from people like me- independents because the GOP has gone too far left." That's entirely incorrect on two levels.
The first level is that the poll was taken by "Self-Identified Republicans". You said yourself that you identify as an Independent, so that counts you out of the survey.
The second level is that, if you truly believe that the GOP has gone so far to the left, why don't they play nice with President Obama, whom all of the major pundits (Rush/Hannity/Levin/Wilkow) all call "The Most Polarizing Liberal Ever."
Scott,
Thanks for commenting here. I am a little confused on your first point. I said they DID NOT have any results from people like me, so I AGREE with you when you say that it "counts me out" of the survey.
As to your second point, the GOP big government types and the DEM big government types disagree on whose friends get the loot- except they both agree that international banks should be allowed to raid the public treasury.
I can make any survey say what I want it to say. The Daily KOS is about as far left as they come so I am not surprised at the results. Everything being equal I would think there are as many Democrats in the South and Midwest that would vote for secession also.
