Bad Day for Womack: Supported Beebe Over Hutchinson in 06

The 3rd District Republican primary is heating up. This is turning into a rough day for Rogers Mayor Steve Womack. First he gets hit for his proposal to have the federal government build a nation-wide network of gyms for senior citizens to exercise in. That proposal was slammed by Gunner DeLay as being worthy of something Mike Beebe would propose. Now the liberal Arktimes reminds us that Womack actually did support Mike Beebe over Asa Hutchinson for Governor in 2006.

I may have forgotten that, but the Hutchinson clan has not. They are lining up behind Rogers rival State Sen. Cecil Bledsoe. The fiscally moderate, socially conservative Bledsoe holds the State Senate seat that falls in state Representative Donna Hutchinson's area. Were Bledsoe to win the seat for Congress, it would make room for Hutchinson to move up to state senate four years early.

If that is too cozy for you, there are other candidates in the race. Gen. Bernie Skoch has a devoted base of support and was in the race before Boozman decided he deserved a promotion to U.S. Senate. My personal choice is Gravette City Councilman and businessman Kurt Maddox, for whom I have done some work. Boone County Judge Mike Moore is also a good man in the race. Agent Steve Lowery is also running and seems to have some good ideas.

Expose early. Expose often. Steve doesn't have much time to bone up on the founding documents or the Republican Party Platform. He doesn't have enough money to hide his now very obvious philosophical inconsistencies.

This post is absolutely ridiculous. You are quoting a former Asa supporter and making his statement the truth. Prove that Womack supported Beebe...contributions, speeches?? Obviously no fact checking.

Well Marty, I guess I will just use your standard....

Where are the speeches and contributions Mayor Womack made to the Asa Hutchinson campaign?

I am not saying that failure to support Asa Hutchinson for Governor is a hanging offense. He ran a poor campaign. Still, Asa himself ought to know which Mayors in his home county supported him and which did not. They seem to think Womack is not their buddy, judging from their moves.

Gunnery Delay is looking better by the day. If he keeps this up do you think he can really capture the small government conservatives?

That horse race stuff is secondary to policy with me. If the have the wrong policy, even if they do "capture the small government conservative" then they will only steer them wrong.

I remember liking DeLay on state issues. I don't know where he is on a lot of federal issues important to me and the future of the republic. I am talking about foreign interventionism, the so-called "patriot act", where he would cut the federal government. Things like that.
