Live Election Day Thread
I don't expect to have much to say here until 9PM, but I wanted to leave a place for you to make your election day comments and observations. Turnout was very heavy in my neck of the woods (Benton County). Some thought the high early voting total would hold down the election day total. From here it looks more like a predictor of very heavy over all turnout.

Blanche Lincoln can't do anything right:

She is snake bit, but I predict the dems won't see it. They will march over the cliff and nominate her in lemming-like fashion.
Now if Republican voters can avoid the same mistake with Boozman.

How can the Republicans AND the Democrats make a mistake for the same office? After all, it'll either be Lincoln or Boozman in November. Or, are you supporting Trevor Drown after tonight?
(that was a joke, by the way)
Budda-bing.
But can they both make a mistake? You forget Obama-McCain!
Just saw Baker on Channel 7's webcast throw his support to Boozman.
Re: Baker's endorsement of Boozman. In a way, I'm not surprised. I mean, one establishment candidate looking out for another. Plus, he and Jim seem to have been having it out more as the election progressed.
On the other hand, Boozman was the man who dashed any chance for a Baker victory when he unexpectedly switched races back in January.
Perhaps he's just assuming Boozman will win in June.
Well, I see now that the real assumption was that there would even be a runoff for this race...
Several news outlets (AP, NPR, etc.) are reporting with finality that Boozman received 54% of the vote and will not face a runoff. While I should not surprised by this incomplete reporting, I nevertheless am.
The Secretary of State site is currently showing Boozman at 40.94% with 52 of 75 counties reporting.
Historically, the SoS website is the last place you would go for up-to-the-moment election results.
It literally takes months for the last remaining precincts to be updated there.
Okay, thanks, I'm fairly new to following politics this closely. So where does one go for the most current data?

Thanks.
One can joke about Drown, but after Holt's valient effort, maybe it is time to put differences aside. After all he will be a factor one way or the other and he does have a large grassroots organization and following. Or we can make poke fun and get nothing but the same old Washington as usual garbage. I for one, am going to look into helping. I am tried of the same old crap.
Waste of time. I'm frustrated, too, but I also run the numbers. Drown can do nothing but throw the election back to Lincoln, and that is the exact definition of Washington as usual.
If you're going to spend your time and energy doing something, wouldn't you want that something to be productive?
How about that 3rd District congressional race? Womack vs. Gunner-or-Bledsoe (2nd place is too close to call).
Why does everyone keep ignoring the 500lb gorilla in the room?
Okay, I'll bite. What's the 500lbs gorilla?
He is talking about Laurie Mastermeat!
If you don't see the 500lb gorilla in the room, then you are either the donkey or the elephant that refuses to acknowledge it's presence.
Is the gorilla a candidate for some office, and if so, which one?
