Green Candidate's Senate Platform Makes Yahoo

The Green Party has a candidate for Senate, Greenland Mayor John Gray. And I agree with what I hear of his platform in this Yahoo news feed.

"Our industries have been decimated. They need to be rebuilt for a period of time. We need to say if it isn't made here, you can't sell it here," said Gray.

That always works so well when it's tried, doesn't it? What a retarded idea.

It's working pretty well for the countries who use it strategically against us.

And the Founders thought tariffs were a lot better way to fund a national government than an individual income tax, or don't you agree?

"If it isn't made here, you can't sell it here..."

That doesn't sound like a tariff. More like a self-imposed trade sanction.

The rest of the article talks about tariffs. I take it to mean 'you can't sell it here without a tariff' in the context of the whole article.

I would also be against an outright ban, if that brings us to an agreeable conclusion.

What about arbitrary tariffs that accomplish the same thing- a virtual outright ban? Isn't that just semantics?
