Religious Conservatives Splitting Over Support For GOP

"Tired of Betrayal" Faction and "Republican Lemming" Faction at odds
*****************************************
Well, it is happening at last. Significant figures from the "Christian Right" have finally come to grips with the reality that the Republican Party has no intention of enacting any of their agenda. What is worse, religious conservatives are getting the blame from an uninformed (or even misinformed) populace who view the disasterous policies of the Bush administration as the result of "Christians in politics".

This is particularly galling because Bush has not delivered on the Christian Right agenda, they have simply bought into some of his (i.e. the nation-building exercise in Iraq). In other words, the general populace has the idea that Bush is what a "Christian" president governs like, even though his policies are not at all what his Christian-Right backers had in mind. He left them high and dry on policy, but not on blame!

For the last few election cycles, the GOP has not produced candidates that the Christian Right has been excited about, but rather "hit the fear button" by playing up how terrible the other guy is. It worked for them at first, so they played up even more unacceptable candidates and simply relied on slamming the fear button harder and harder. It seems that at last some of the leaders of the Christian Right have come to the place my wife came to three years ago when she said, "My fear button is broken". That is to say, the GOP must produce acceptable candidates or they will not vote for them, whatever the consequences. At this point, witness is more important than winning.

The well-respected Dr. James Dobson is one of the foremost leaders of the faction that is ready to bolt. He met recently with other Christian Right leaders in Salt Lake City to come up with a plan of action. Those who met with him include; the Family Research Council, Bott Broadcasting, Capitol Resource Institute, Salem Communications, Eagle Forum and Concerned Women for America. They even floated the idea of backing billionaire Foster Friess as an independent candidate for President.

Bush Pushes to Transfer 70% of the World to U.N. Control

Just when I think President Bush cannot do anything more outrageous against the national interests of this country and the Constitution he swore to uphold, he tops himself. Our theory here is that he knows his presidency is shot and so he has abandoned even trying to go out with a positive legacy. He does not care about what the average American thinks of him, he does not care that he is destroying the Republican Party. All he is trying to do now is ram through as much of the globalist agenda as possible before he leaves. That way, his tag-team partner Hillary Clinton will not have to take the hits in the public opinion polls for selling out the country by doing all this stuff later. The Bush-Clinton administration agenda will advance.

I am referring to Bush's recent decision to dust off the old U.N. "Law of the Sea" treaty. It has been sitting around since the 1980s, now he says he wants it passed in the next three weeks- before public outrage has time to build. This treaty would transfer control of 70% of the Earth's surface to a new U.N. bureaucracy (the "International Seabed Authority Secretariat") that would have its own independent revenue stream because of its power to tax U.S. and other companies who wish to extract resources from the ocean floor. The sordid details of this outrageous treaty are here. We don't know the full extent of riches in the world's oceans. If this treaty goes through, I can see the day coming when this international agency has a higher tax revenue stream (and thus more power) than any nation on Earth.

Reagan refused to sign a similar treaty, and made the case that it was against U.S. interests. Clinton made a few changes and tried to push it through again, but by that time the Senate realized how bad it was and would not authorize it. Now the backers of the treaty are attempting to use the threat of climate change to push the treaty, and Bush is helping them get it done.

The effect of this treaty will be to weaken national sovereignty and tilt the playing field for deep ocean resources to only the largest global corporations. Bureaucracies tend to set up hurdles to entry into business and the costs for deep sea exploration are already high. A middle-weight oil company, say like Murphy Oil in Arkansas, will be at a competitive disadvantage with a giant like Exxon, who can afford to jump those bureaucratic hurdles and maintain an on-going relationship with the various tentacles of the bureaucratic machine. Thus, this really represents an effort of the world's largest corporations to squeeze out smaller players in the competition for ocean resources. By their actions, it is clear that the Bush-Clinton administration is loyal to the global elites, not the citizens of the United States.

Already Sick of the Clinton Crime Wave

Hillary Clinton's Treasurer Andrew Grossman is in trouble for allegedly hiding $712,000 in campaign contributions. There is evidence that Hillary knew, but the authorities seem determined to ignore it. Read about it here.

What is it with these people? Do you remember the first Clinton administration where it seemed like everyone around them was dirty, yet somehow it would never land on them? Surrounded by scoundrels and yet somehow always innocent themselves. Yeah, right. It seems the only lesson Hillary has learned from her past is that she can get away with anything.

First Norman Hsu, and now this. And the campaign season is still very young. The scandals will continue until Clinton Fatigue once again reaches mind-numbing proportions, but the Clintons will remain untouched. In Washington, so many are dirty that by mutual assent they ignore one another's dirt.

Even when Bush and the Republicans controlled the Senate, it seemed like there was no interest in investigating the Clinton's many questionable activities. The polices of the Bush administration seem very similar to those of Clinton's, the main difference being where, not if, foreign interventions take place. The continuity of policy and the refusal to seriously investigate one another's possible criminal activities cause me to refer to the last twenty years as "the Bush-Clinton" administration. I am not sure we can make it through eight more years of Bush-Clinton.

Republicans need to run an un-Bush candidate in order to have a chance to win, but they show no signs of getting their act together. So far, it looks like it will be Clinton Crime Wave, part deaux.

Gallup: Confidence of Americans in Federal Government Hits All Time Low

Less than half of Americans now have faith that the Federal government can solve our domestic problems. State and local governments don't see the same kind of erosion in faith that the poll shows for the Federal government. Public confidence in itself- the ability of people to make good decisions, is also dropping.

50th Anniversary of Central High Integration Crisis

Let us remember our past so as to avoid new wounds from similar mistakes in the future, but do so in a way that heals rather than re-opens old wounds.">

Mexican Official Calls for Swift Implementation of a North American Union

CNN's Lou Dobbs is one of the many people attempting to warn Americans about the plot to forge a borderless supra-governmental economic and regulatory union between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
**************************

While assorted free-traitor stooges and mouth pieces hurl mockery and abuse at anyone who suggests that corporate and state power are pushing us toward a "North American Union", a Mexican Mayor at a trade conference in Denver has openly called for a "North American Union". World Net Daily has the story.

We are in a strange stage of the conspiracy. The once-hidden plans of the elites to subjugate our sovereignty to their commercial and political interests is becoming harder and harder to keep under wraps. Yet at the same time the plot becomes more obvious, the intensity of their denials and accusations increases. Anyone who warns of their plans is shouted down as "a nut", even as those plans unfold before the eyes of the observant.

This quote from the great G.K. Chesterton rings true.....

The wisest thing in the world is to cry out before you are hurt. It is no good to cry out after you are hurt; especially after you are mortally hurt. People talk about the impatience of the populace; but sound historians know that most tyrannies have been possible because men moved too late. It is often essential to resist a tyranny before it exists. It is no answer to say, with a distant optimism, that the scheme is only in the air. A blow from a hatchet can only be parried while it is in the air.

BTW, Osama bin Laden is Long Dead

"He's Dead Jim"

**************************

It has been a few weeks since the last purported video of bin Laden has emerged. At first it had me flummoxed, because the video made many references to current events. That confused me because I have long been convinced that bin Laden has been dead since December of 2001. His likely end came when U.S. cluster bombs turned him into a pink mist at the caves of Tora Bora.

It turns out that the video tape freezes after a few minutes while the audio portion goes on. George Maschke of the Booman Tribune notes, "The video freezes at about 1 minute and 58 seconds, and motion only resumes again at 12:30,". It freezes up again a few minutes later. All references to current events occur when the video is frozen. Also, bin Laden looks 10 years younger than he did when last seen in 2001, but wearing the same clothes as in a video from years before. If he is alive, he has a great make-up department at his cave studio.

Add to it that the message did not even sound like things the living bin Laden would say. For example, bin Laden encouraged people to read a somewhat obscure Jewish American author, Norm Chomsky. Bin Laden was a madman, but that was not his style of crazy.

The pattern has been consistent for six years. An allegedly "new" audio or video tape of bin Laden will emerge. Hay will be made over it by the lamestream media, and a few weeks later I will get an obscure web report that a firm in Switzerland or something has analyzed the tape and found a number of dubious splices, as if the message was just a re-edited version of older tapes. Now, the guys at Langley can do that stuff too. Why don't they say it? Why doesn't our press over here report it? If he is alive and in Pakistan, why haven't we leaned on the Paks harder to get him?

Some people want to make us believe bin Laden is alive, when there is a lot of evidence (more than I have given here) to make a reasonable person think that he is dead. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.

We Need More Hypocrisy on the Lottery

"hypocrisy is the compliment that vice pays to virtue."

I read Kane Webb's editorial the other day where he reversed himself and came out in favor of the lottery. Why? Because he personally played the lottery while in another state and he did not want to be "a hypocrite". That might make him "feel better about himself", but it does not change whether or not a state lottery is good public policy. Mr. Webb gave sounder policy advice on this issue back when his priority was advocating policy that was best for the state based on reason rather than advocating policy that allowed him to feel better about himself.

Even his analysis of the one fact he gave was skewed. He noted that those with over $75,000 a year in income spend three times the as much on lottery tickets as those with under $25,000 a year in income. He used that as "proof" that a lottery was not just taking advantage of the poor. It has been said that a lottery is a tax on stupidity, and you decide how much you pay. Still, people who make 75K and up have three times the money as someone who makes 25K or less. Why shouldn't they spend three times as much? The problem is the person who makes 25K has even less than one third the disposable income as a person making 75K.

When the poor buy lottery tickets it is the difference between feeding their children nutritious food and feeding them junk. It is the rent. Plus, there are a lot more people in this state who make closer to 25K than there are people who make 75K, so most of the money is still being extracted from the poor.

Webb argues that supporting the lottery is the libertarian thing to do, but even if libertarian ideas are always good, government creating a monopoly and getting into the lottery business is not a libertarian position. It is a statist position. I have already said why gambling is an immoral economic transaction. The lottery is much worse than horse racing. With horse racing at least it is only a seasonal thing. That greatly attenuates the evil which could otherwise come from it.

Hypocrisy is bad, but open wickedness is even worse. When we try to legitimize our own weakness by making it easier for others to be dragged down with us then we are less loving and respectful of our neighbor than when we say, "I know I slip up and do this once in a while, but it is still wrong and harmful and we should not make it any easier to get into." My preference is that we all be righteous, but none of us are. That leaves us with what is second best: We love our God and our neighbors more than our own feelings. We are willing to keep saying right is right and wrong is wrong- even when that means condemning our own wayward actions from time to time. Hypocrisy is not good, but give me a society of people who care enough about others to be hypocrites over one that is full of people who are openly and shamefully wicked, beckoning others to follow whatever paths of darkness they walk.

Turning Facts on Their Head as Only Brummett Can Do

Is it A, B, C, or D?
****************************

I don't have time to de-construct all of the delusions Brummett expressed in his column today, but I thought I'd throw a few out there. Half the column was spent dismissing the idea that illegals commit a lot of other crimes. Apparently, the man does not read his own newspaper, or get out much for that matter.

Here are some other jewels of non-reason from his screed today:

Name an Arkansas Republican getting elected in recent years to a statewide office. That's Mike Huckabee. He was always tolerant on illegal immigration.

The Huckster's pro-illegal views were not widely known until after he was elected to his last term. His stock plummeted like Enron from that point forward, and his stand on the issue may yet cost him the Presidency as it may have McCain. I doubt he will bust a quarter of the vote in the primary on Feb. 5th. Huckabee was not elected because he was pro-illegal, and the only reason it did not hurt him more is that his views were not well known at the time- thanks in part to newspaper guys like Brummett.

Name an Arkansas Republican getting swamped for statewide office in recent years on account of seeming extreme. That would be Jim Holt, who always wanted to round them up and send them back, especially if they came in for medical care.

This is the reasoning of a man who needs to get back on his meds or a corporate media hack- the symptoms are often indistinguishable. Holt did not lose that election because of his stand on illegal immigration. Indeed, he got more votes than any other Republican in Arkansas that year despite being disproportionately outspent. All Republicans in 06 had a mill stone around their necks named Jorge Bush, and his arrogant intransigence on illegal immigration was exhibit "A" in his mill-stonedness! The Democrats shifted money to the Lt Governor's race when they realized Holt was the only one close in the polls. They did not shift money to Halter to tell people that Jim Holt was against illegals, they told people that Holt was against their social security and other assorted lies.

Name the front-running Republican presidential candidate. That's Rudy Giuliani, who once touted his New York City as a haven for illegals.

Name the Republican presidential candidate most adamantly against illegal immigration. Can't do it, can you? His name is something like Tancredo. He's at zero-point-zero in the polls.

Of course Giuliani is leading in the "polls". At this point, they are all name ID as the general public, even the average primary voter, knows little about the candidates. If the average reader "can't name" Tancredo, it is not because they dislike Tancredo's policies on immigration (which better known candidates are trying to emulate), but rather because the corporate media enforces a near black-out of Tancredo coverage relative to Guiliani coverage. That is regular polls, but straw polls are different. They are a "leading indicator" because they are attended by those devoted enough to inform themselves of things that the general public will only later know. In those, Rudy is getting slaughtered by Tancredo and a lot of other candidates who are stealing Tancredo's issue. Look for Rudy to sink once his true stance on illegals is better known.

For Brummett to write the things he put in his column today he must be either A) Delusional, B) a Corporate Media Hack who is trying to bludgeon the public into letting go of their legitimate concerns because crooked business interests want them to, C) a blithering idiot, or D) Some combination of A, B, and C.

Saunders Weighs in on GOP Executive Director Ray

It looks like the story that we got from ArkTimes about Arkansas Republican Party Executive Director Karen Ray has some legs. David Saunders weighs in on Ray's email which upbraided a legislator expressing qualms about her efforts to aide the Farm Bureau in crafting illegal-alien friendly law. This was done as a favor to business interests who want to depress wages below what the legal free-market labor supply would allow.

The legislator being dissed by the 20-something Ray is said to be Representative Jon Woods of Springdale.

I thought this outrage against the will of the grassroots might be swept under the rug like all of the others. I seem to be wrong about that. GOP politicos get your resumes ready, there might be an opening for Arkansas GOP Executive Director.

Peter Paul Claims Rigged Trial as Hillary's Finance Guy Acquitted

Not THIS Peter Paul, but he is singing.
**********************************
Peter Paul broke the law in funneling millions of dollars worth of illegal campaign contributions to Hillary!. He is being held accountable, but is not happy about being the fall guy. He claims that Hillary's! financier, David Rosen, and Hillary! herself, knew what was going on. What's that you say, you have never heard of this case? Well then, you need to quit getting your news from the Bread-and-Circus Corporate Media and start listening to people who are actually trying to inform you about important events.

Rosen was recently acquitted in the case, but Paul has a lot of circumstantial evidence, and some factual evidence, to indicate that a Clinton-friendly judge and prosecutor conspired to throw the case. In a world where Sandy Berger can stuff his socks with top secret documents and walk away with no jail time, you can't discount the idea. The Bush-Clinton administration has a lot in common, including open borders, interventionist foreign policy, globalist economic policy, and a marked unwillingness to prosecute their own. Here is Peter Paul making his case.

Bush Asks for Extension of Surveillance Powers

Conservatives remember, whatever extra-judicial surveillance power you want to give to the Executive Branch of government will be used by whoever the next President is. You are only giving them to G.W. Bush for an additional nine months.

Beebe Returns to Form

I noticed on a radio show recently the Governor ruled out a tax cut, including any more steps in his campaign plan to "phase out" the grocery tax. Instead, he was looking forward to raising taxes on companies who drill for natural gas in the Natural State.

The recent increase of drilling in our state is like a goose that lays golden eggs. In the story, the couple with the goose at least waited until a number of eggs were laid before they got greedy and split it open to get more eggs. It looks like he wants to tax away drilling investment just as it is really getting off the ground in our state.

This represents a return to form. On the radio, he pointed out that the Republican Governor did not give you the little tax cut that we got, he did. Now I guess it is back to ever-increasing taxes. Governor Beebe seems to think that the fact that the Republicans do it too is reason to support the Democrats, but he is really making the case for the emergence of a third party that will do more than give lip service to the segment of the population alarmed by the shocking increase in government spending.

Mexican Trucks and Dobson on Thompson

One News Now, the News site operated by the American Family Association, has two stories of note today. One, President Bush's plan to allow Mexican truckers to operate freely in the United States (already in effect as the scheme was rushed through before Congress could fully react) received a set-back yesterday when the Senate voted to defund the program by a large margin. A virtually identical measure has already passed in the House, also by veto-proof margins. The story from Chad Groening is here. The vote represents a setback to the President's increasingly obvious efforts to integrate the economies of Canada, Mexico, and the United States into a "North American Union" in part through the extra-governmental "Security and Prosperity Partnership".

In another article from One News Now, globalist forces got another setback when it was revealed that the influential founder of Focus on the Family, Dr. James Dobson, has ruled out backing CFR member Fred Thompson in his race for the Republican Presidential nomination. The Council on Foreign relations (CFR) is a hyper-influential think-tank which has long pushed for greater integration of the United States into a global economy and government. Other Republican candidates who are members of the CFR include Rudy Guiliani, John McCain, and Mitt Romney. Top Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama are also members. This consistency demonstrates that no matter which side the American people "choose", the choice on some issues has already been made for them. The ONN story from Eric Gorski is here.

Reporter Denied Access to Globalist Meeting with U.S. Offiicals

Get the full story at World Net Daily. Here is an excerpt..

"When government officials want to go behind closed doors with investment bankers and lawyers to discuss selling our public infrastructure to foreign investment leaders, investigative reporters need to be there to tell the public what is really going on," Corsi said.

"Why is it that all these PPP and SPP (Security and Prosperity Partnership) meetings are behind closed doors," Corsi asked, "and government officials and their supporters think that's normal? But when investigative reporters want to attend and report on what is being said, we are the ones who get accused of being the conspiracy theorists?"

"By refusing to allow WND to attend as a paying customer," Corsi argued, "EuroMoney is telling the American public that they intend to conduct a secret meeting designed to teach government officials how to sell out U.S. public infrastructure to foreign investment concerns. "

Mussolini is alleged to have said "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." Regardless of the veracity of the quote, we are seeing it happening. Global corporations hold private meetings with our "representatives" whose re-election campaigns are funded by those same corporations. The purpose of the meeting seems to be how to sell off our national assets to them. Under these dubious circumstances, how can we have faith that these deals done in the dark will be for fair market value?

41 illegal aliens rounded up, suspected of gang ties, 9-19-07 Springdale...

Excerpts from the story with above headline follow: " Federal immigration agents working with local police said Tuesday that they arrested 41 illegal aliens with gang ties in Northwest Arkansas last week."

"U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted a gang “surge” in Rogers, Springdale, Bentonville and Fayetteville, said Rod Reyes, resident agent of the immigration agency based in Fort Smith."

Following facts were also included in the article:

*Suspects have ties to three Mexican gans , Reyes said. Suspects have ties to three Mexican gangs:Mexican Mafia, Sureno 13 and Latin Kings — and with an El Savadoran gang, Mara Salvatrucha, he said.

*Illegals who weren't wanted for serious crimes weren't arrested

*Those arrested were living and probably working in the community.

*Most arrests were in Rogers and Springdale.

*Roudup was in response to requests by local police.

*Many arrested wire charged with violating parole.

*Some gang members targeted had already moved and that the gang element tends to be a population that moves often. "For entire articles see this link . [That means they may now be in your area. ] http://www.nwanews.com/adg/News/201864/

GOP Arkansas Director Pushes for More Illegal Aliens

************************************

My mind is boggled at the email exchange uncovered by the Arkansas Times. To read it here click TUESDAY below and scroll down.
Author's mind being boggled at emails from RPA Executive Director.
************************************

If you are someone who wants government to defend our borders and stem the flood of illegal aliens pouring into this country, you don't have a political party in this state. On the other hand, if you are a poultry company that wants to depress wages below what the free-market would legally set them, then you are fortunate enough to have TWO political parties in this state at your beck and call. Congratulations.

Huckabee Catches a Wave in "Value Voters" Debate

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee won a solid victory on friendly turf last night in the "Value Voters" Debate. World Net Daily Host Joseph Farah moderated, with assists from people like the magnificent Phyllis Schlafly of Eagle Forum, Paul Weyrich, Don Wildmon of the American Family Association, Mat Staver, Rick Scarborough, and Janet Folger.

While over 2,000 were in attendance, only about 400 or so were selected by organization leaders to be delegates. Huckabee scooped up 63% of the delegate vote, far out pacing the 16% of runner-up Dr. Ron Paul, a Congressman from Texas.

Things happened just right for Huckabee. The front-runners in the race dissed the event's sponsors by snubbing the debate. They are not going to forget. Fred Thompson made a huge blunder by skipping out. These people control media that a huge section of the Christian Right listen to. They were all ready to line up behind Thompson, but not anymore. Into that setting steps Huckabee, and he was smooth as silk.

Paul had an off night, coming off too rushed and even angry at times. He could not tell the crowd what they wanted to hear on some issues. Their loud boos when Paul made the point about applying the traditional Christian doctrine of a "just war" to Iraq made me glad they called themselves "Values Voters" instead of "Christian Voters". Those whose top-issue is bombing people for Jesus until they turn into the kind of country that we think they should be are never going to go for the traditional Christian doctrine of Just War (or for Ron Paul).

Alan Keyes jumped into the debate at the last minute. Though he had flashes, he was too bombastic and shrill for my tastes. The others seemed like decent fellows, but they were lost even in the reduced crowd. If these folks decide to rally around Huckabee, look for him to jump into contention for real. And after that I look for him to cost event organizers most of what little credibility some of them have left after their blind support for GW Bush.

Arkansas Editorial Says Mike Huckabee Is Closest of all Candidates to Hillary Clinton

A recent editorial (Sept. 10, 07) entitled "Hillary vs. Huckabee?" in the Arkansas paper, The Leader, begins by saying:

"Mike Huckabee said on ABC’s 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos' that he would be the Republicans’ best candidate because his record contrasted the most sharply with hers. Our former governor might be the GOP’s best candidate against Sen. Clinton, at least among the present and forthcoming challengers, but his strength would be that he is closest to, not farthest from, Sen. Clinton on the issues and their records...

"Huckabee demanded wholesale and immediate school consolidation and abolished more than 50 of them in one swoop. He wanted more than 100 other school districts consolidated but the legislature balked. Does he dare boast about that?Taxes? Huckabee raised them considerably more in 10 years than Clinton did in 12. Clinton vetoed a 4-cent-a-gallon gasoline tax, and it passed over his veto." For rest of The Leader's article see this link: http://www.arkansasleader.com:80/2007/09/editorialshillary-vs-huckabee.html

The Leader's editorial reminds me of one of Arkansas's best known liberal writer John Brummett's article, February 1, 2000 in which he says the following:

"As it happens, Huckabee governs about as Clinton governed, and Boozman [Huckabee's appointee] directs the state Health Department about as Dr. Joycelyn Elders directed it, save the brutal and over-the-top rhetoric...The state's leading liberal Democratic journal (the only one), the weekly Arkansas Times at Little Rock, has in recent issues put Boozman on the cover and suggested it might have been wrong about him and put Huckabee on the cover as 'Arkansan of the Year' and extolled his Clintonesque moderation.

"His moderation is evident in that his most touted program is a form of liberal-lite. It is the expanded and modified Medicaid for kids in families of the working poor that he calls ARKids First. In another article Brummett had this to say " Mike Huckabee, despite his rhetoric and religious conservatism, has been more of a moderate progressive, like modern Democrats, at least in a broad historical context encompassing race and immigration and spending."

Quotes from other Arkansas articles that support the thesis that Mike Huckabee Is Closest of all Candidates to Hillary Clinton:

Huckabee's pro illegal alien agenda- unbelievable!

· See following link for n Arkansas newspaper articles that outline Huckabee's pro illegal alien agenda. One quote from the article will give you an idea: "Gov. Mike Huckabee said Thursday that a bill to deny state government benefits and voting rights to illegal immigrants is 'inflammatory... race-baiting and demagoguery.' He challenged the Christian values of its main sponsor." We don't believe that Hillary could do any better! http://www.wpaag.org/Huckabee%20pro%20illegal%20alien%20agenda%20-%20unbelievable.htm

Government Control

· As an example of Huckabee's idea of government control vs local control, he actually called for superintendents to be appointed by the State Department of Education, saying in his educational plan, A superintendent, who will have the authority to hire and fire principals and central office staff, will administer each district. The authority to hire and fire the superintendent will rest with the director of the state Department of Education, [whom Huckabee appoints]. Only Hillary Clinton could dream of such arrogance and power.
For this and other such outrageous government control ideas from Governor Huckabee's own paper on education , see this link: http://www.wpaag.org/Huckabee's%20Ed.%20Plan%20-2%20Parts.htm Also see this link with numerous examples of how Huckabee and his appointed Director of Arkansas Department of Education did a better job than Hillary in government takeover of the schools in Arkansas. http://www.wpaag.org/Simon%20Appointment%20Cause%20for%20Concern.htm
For rest of this article that discusses Huckabee actions on Health Care, ARKids first, article opposing prayer in schools, taxes, etc. see this link: http://www.wpaag.org/Huckabee%20-%20closest%20to%20Hillary%20of%20all%20candidates.htm or click on Monday below; or if sent here, just scroll down.

How Much Influence Does Mexican Consul Have with AR Attorney General???

"Anytime someone is issuing fake ID cards to illegal immigrants the attorney general's office is concerned," McDaniel said in a news release. This statement was made concerning the suit our Attorney General filed against a Jonesboro company for allegedly offering fake driver's licenses to Hispanics in northeastern Arkansas. (See excerpts below)

The rumor, note I said rumor, in Little Rock among the legislators is that the Mexican Consul asked the Attorney General to get involved in that situation to protect the illegal aliens. The statement above and the AG's action though are fact according to the newspaper. Some say that the Consul was getting ripped off because they provide authentic licenses to illegal aliens, so they were being short changed.

I do believe the Attorney General should file suit against ALL illegal activity, but I wish he would be just as diligent to act against the illegality of the illegal aliens who broke the law coming to the US. He could start by being just as diligent in searching out the coyotes who are defrauding the illegal aliens as well as breaking our laws bringing the illegal aliens into Arkansas.
Quotes from article below:

AG sues company, alleges sale of fake driver's licenses
Friday, Aug 31, 2007 http://www.arkansasnews.com/archive/2007/08/31/News/343218.html

"Arkansas News BureauLITTLE ROCK - The state attorney general's office filed a lawsuit Thursday against a Jonesboro company for allegedly offering fake driver's licenses to Hispanics in northeastern Arkansas. The company, according to the lawsuit, illegally offered international driver's licenses or documents, despite having no authority to offer such a document.

"Anytime someone is issuing fake ID cards to illegal immigrants the attorney general's office is concerned," McDaniel said in a news release. [Wish he had such concern for legal citizens who have complaints about illegal actions by immigrants. And again isn't the Mexican consulate encouraging and assisting illegal aliens to stay in this country which is a criminal offense.]

"International Automovil Association was selling the licenses for $140 each. Legitimate International Driver's Documents cost less than $20.

DEM-GAZ Wins Prize By Protecting Illegal Activity Articles/Holt Has More Coveted Prize

Remember all those articles the Democrat Gazette - Paul Greenberg, George Arnold, David Barham and Kane Webb - wrote advocating illegal acitivity - you know those articles protecting the illegal acitivity of illegal aliens' right to come and stay in our nation and state and receive state benefits.

You know all those ugly articles they wrote crucifying anyone that wanted our nation to continue as a law abiding nation, especially those articles lambasting Senator Holt for having the audacity to represent the people and try to get a law passed to protect taxpayers by refusing state benefits to illegal aliens. [Aiding illegal aliens is a federal crime and subject to imprinsonment] Well these editorialists just received a prize for those articles!

But guess who the prize came from! The media of course. Of course, these editorialists please the media. They represent them. But what about the people. One would think those writers who kept calling Senator Holt "out of the main stream" would realize now that they are really describing themselves.

When the Senate tried to pass a bill that would tickle these Arkansas Democrat Gazette editorialists pink, surveys showed that just "20% of American voters want Congress to try and pass the immigration reform bill that failed in the Senate last week," reported a Rasmussen poll. In questioning Holt's humanity in their articles, they basically questioned the humanity of 80% of the people in the nation. National action has proven Senator Holt was actually ahead of his time, not out of the main stream. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/
poll_voters_want_smaller_steps_to_immigration_reform_with_focus_on_enforcement

You have your media prize, Greenberg, Arnold, Barham, and Webb; but Jim Holt and we law abiding citizens have a more coveted prize - the people's support and the support of all those who have gone before us (you know that "cloud of witnesses" referred to in that good book and our founding fathers. Remember Arkansas's motto: "The people rule." Some of us still believe in that philosophy.

Those advocating lawlessness for illegals are endangering the safety of every individual in the nation. No one is safe in a nation where people pick and choose which law is right and which is wrong. In the play Man for All Seasons, Sir Thomas Moore made some key points on the necessity of obeying the laws. The following one concerns his son-in-law who is trying to help him get out of prison for insistence that the King follow the law.

William Roper: So, now you give the Devil the benefit of law! Sir Thomas More: Yes! What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil? William Roper: Yes, I'd cut down every law in England to do that! Sir Thomas More: Oh? And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned 'round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country is planted thick with laws, from coast to coast, Man's laws, not God's! And if you cut them down, and you're just the man to do it, do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!

Sir Thomas Moore's views were not popular with the establishment either during the corrupt reign of King Henry VIII. He was beheaded, but his truth lives on in classic literature and in a movie that won an academy award not so many years ago.

Dirty Donor Hsu Also Gave to Pryor!

Fall Guy Norman Hsu
**********************
It turns out that Hillary Clinton is not the only one who took tainted money from Norman Hsu. Sen. Mark Pryor was also a "beneficiary".

It seems that Hillary Clinton has learned nothing from the Chi-Com fundraising scandals of the 90s which involved her husband. Check that, she has learned that you can get away with it. If a scheme falls apart, just get the donor to be the fall guy and brazenly deny you knew anything about where the money was coming from. Your foreign backers will find a new bag man, and neither the press nor the other party will make an issue of it.

Most national politicians from both parties are for sale to foreign interests. The Chinese prefer Democrats while South and Central American interests prefer Republicans. Globalist politicians sell out easily to foreign interests because, well- they are globalists. They don't take that stuff about sovereign nations very seriously, so why should they care about the laws we have in place to keep foreign governments from buying our elected officials? Especially since neither side of the Republicrat party will really make an effort to enforce the law on the other. Bill Clinton was clearly getting money from the Chi-Coms in the 1990s, but the GOP never laid a hand on him. The "investigation" into the matter was a white-wash. The guy in charge of the pseudo-effort to "investigate" the matter? That would be current insider-designated outsider candidate Fred Thompson.

The press is doing all it can to make Hsu look like a "lone gunman", but the man simply did too much too fast for that. He had to have an infrastructure behind him.

Illegals Fleeing States Enacting Laws

Arkansas Governor Needs to Follow Missouri Governor's Example

In August it was reported that "Gov. Mike Beebe said Tuesday that before Arkansas passes more laws addressing illegal immigration, state officials should study such laws recently passed by other states." The problem with that philosophy of waiting makes Arkansas a haven for the illegal aliens who are rapidly moving out of those states that have toughened their laws. Tens of thousands of Hispanics have left the Tulsa area because of a tough law passed there. It is reported that "Most illegal immigrants are ending up in either Kansas or Arkansas."

In Arkansas, there was a 437 percent increase of Hispanics from 1990 to 2003, the first or second in the nation. But the actual number of Hispanics in Arkansas is likely two or three times the census figure, said Sarah Breshears of the State Data Center.

Our governor needs to follow the judicious actions of the Governor of Missouri who just recently announced a plan to get tough on illegal aliens and businesses. If he doesn't, then more of those illegal aliens will just move into Arkansas. "Gov. Matt Blunt's plan means some companies that get tax incentives face random on-site inspections, and on the roads state troopers with new powers to hunt illegal aliens."

Since Governor Beebe said state officials should study such laws recently passed by other states, below are summaries of articles on actions taken recently by four southern states to curb the number of illegal aliens coming into their states. We call on our Governor to step up to the plate and do for Arkansas what the Governor of Missouri did and protect the citizens of Arkansas rather than the illegal aliens.

Oklahoma: August 22, 07 "Hispanics Moving OUt of Oklahoma before New Law Takes Effect" Jerry Giordano, Tulsa News Channel 8: "Tens of thousands of Hispanics have left the Tulsa area. And, a law designed to crack down on illegal immigration hasn't even taken effect yet. And, it's all because of one word -- deportation. . . . 'Two months ago I heard 25-thousand Hispanics have left Oklahoma,' Navarro says. That is about 30-percent of Oklahoma's Hispanic population." tp://arkansasgopwing.blogspot.com/2007/08/hispanics-moving-out-of-oklahoma-before.html

Arizona: August 29, 07. "New Arizona law chases illegals out, I would say we are losing at least 100 people a day." "It's the second such development in just the last week: WND reported earlier how a new Oklahoma law requiring the deportation of arrested illegal aliens was prompting an exodus from that state..

"The new report comes from the Arizona Republic, 'I would say we are losing at least 100 people a day,' Elias Bermudez, founder of Immigrants Without Borders and host of a daily talk-radio program aimed at undocumented immigrants, told the newspaper. .. 'Some are moving to other states, where they think they will have an easier time getting jobs,' the report said. 'Others are returning to Mexico, selling their effects and putting their houses on the market.'
The report said the number is expected to mushroom as the deadline approaches." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=57361

Tennessee: June 24, 07 "State of immigration" "Legislature has enacted five new laws affecting illegal immigrants that are arguably significant, though not comprehensive. …Employers of illegal immigrants can lose their business license in Tennessee. On first violation, the company's license would be suspended until the illegal worker or workers are terminated. On second and subsequent violations, the suspension is for one year. .. 'The public is outraged,' said Sen. Tim Burchett, R-Knoxville, who teamed with Turner in successfully sponsoring a bill that imposes penalties on those who transport illegal immigrants in Tennessee. Violators will face a fine of $1,000 for each person transported."
http://www3.knoxnews.com/kns/local_news/article/0,1406,KNS_347_5600437,00.html

Missouri: August 29, 07 "Governor announces plan battle illegal immigration" "Gov. Matt Blunt's plan means some companies that get tax incentives face random on-site inspections, and on the roads state troopers with new powers to hunt illegal aliens…In Kansas City Wednesday, Blunt outlined a plan which deputizes Missouri Troopers as Federal Immigration Officers…The governor's plan requires routine immigration checks after arrest by state officers and certification from companies that get state incentives that their employees are here legally…'Missouri will take decisive action to help protect Missourians from crimes that might be perpetrated by illegal aliens,' Blunt said." http://www.nbcactionnews.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=0b53442e-336a-423b-b102-c05da2d557d4&rss=764

It is interesting how often we have heard the statement that there is no way to deport all these illegal immigrants. It is obvious now, as many have maintained - they won't have to be deported if our officials will just make and enforce the right laws. They will leave on their own accord!

Amnesty Through The Back Door: Call Pryor Monday

******************************************
Globalists have more loyalty to international corporations and elites than they do whatever country they happen to reside in. Unfortunately, the President and much of our Congress are globalists. The oaths they swore to uphold and defend the constitution are ignored in order to cater to the desires of their fellow globalists. This helps explain the otherwise inexplicable, such as President Bush's maniacal push for amnesty over and above the wishes of the citizens who elected him. But he doesn't give a rat's hindquarters about the citizens who elected him. He cares about what fellow elites want. They all do.

The citizens of this country rose up and thwarted their "comprehensive" plan to destroy this nation with amnesty and unchecked immigration in June. The elites want an infinite supply of cheap labor to work their grunt jobs even if it destroys the middle and working class. In fact, the working and middle class are a bit too uppity for them. They prefer compliant serfs who make less demands of their rulers and betters. Therefore, they do not give up on amnesty regardless of any oaths they have taken or who elected them. They are trying it again, this time through the back door quickly and quietly. We must call Senator Pryor's office on Monday. Their is no point to calling Senator Lincoln, as she is one of the elites and is non-responsive to constituent wishes on this and many other issues.

Textbook Accuracy Society Announces Free Supplements to Balance Evolutionary Bias in Major H.S. Biology Books

For Immediate Release from: Textbook Accuracy Society

Radio stations: Audio sound bite can be found at http://www.textbookaccuracy.org/markmooreevolutionbite.mp3

Group Offers Downloads Challenging High School Textbooks on Evolution

What started as a project to balance the bias two men found in a single section of one school’s textbooks has turned into an organization which offers free downloadable materials to students across the nation at http://www.textbookaccuracy.org.

When Dentist Don Eckard volunteered to be a community representative for an area school, he was surprised at how hard they pushed the idea of molecules-to-man evolution. “The district even had a power-point presentation which clearly was designed to intimidate teachers so that they would not dare teach anything about evolution other than what their texts said.” Eckard recalled, “And the texts, all four of the major texts in use in U.S. public schools, were really one-sided and in some cases misleading in the way they presented the evidence.” He shared his concerns with a friend, Mark Moore, who spent twelve years as a public school science teacher.

“I knew just what he was talking about” said Moore, “I watched the text books change over my career so that they emphasized evolution more, while the quality and depth of the evidence for it was less. Your children are no longer being educated on macro-evolution, they are being indoctrinated. There is a lot of evidence out there that life is the result of Intelligent Design, but that evidence is excluded from the texts.”

In response, the team compiled Word documents which balanced the material in each of the four major biology books used in U.S. schools. They are now available for free download so that any student or teacher could get them. Students just click on the picture of the book they use and download the files, which match up with their book page by page in some cases. Now, other individuals and churches are signed up to help promote the site.

Both Eckard and Moore are quick to say that micro-evolution is well established by science and does occur, but the idea that those same processes are responsible for new types of organisms, which they call macro-evolution, is contradicted by a fair look at the evidence. What is the evidence? “Sometimes the truth is too detailed for a news-bite. Students should go to www.textbookaccuracy.org and find the stuff that goes with their textbook.”

Guns and Whiskey in One Convenient Location

SAM's Club & Liquor Store is open for business in Fayetteville. Actually, I don't think they sell guns there yet, but if not there seems to be no reason why they couldn't. The state law preventing liquor stores from selling anything "not related to the consumption of alcohol" does not seem to apply to SAM's, just all of SAM's competitors. Lest you buy all the baloney about how "separate" the facilities are, the article from NWA online describes the setting as one in which "a liquor store at the club opened for business." How did that one get by the editors?

This of course gives SAM's a competitive advantage over the stand-alone liquor stores that everyone else has. The article quoted a liquor store owner as saying the arrangement was not fair, but devoted little to no space explaining why it was unfair. It is unfair because there is one set of rules for the little guys and a more lax set of rules for SAM's club. My view is that for the law to be respected, all must be equal before the law. By caving to Wal-Mart pressure on this issue, the ABC Board committed a grave offense against the rule of law.

Not everyone sees it like that. Principle does not matter, just quick results. Some people have expressed the idea that as long as they can save a few bucks on booze, they don't care that the powerful get exemptions from the rules. Frankly, those who hold such views are unfit for self-rule. If they enjoy the benefits of living under good government it will only be because those more just and wise than they outvote them. Yet I see no signs that such views are minority.

The whole thing is very depressing. I think I will swing by SAM's and see if I can buy a shotgun and a quart of whiskey.

Tancredo Fires at Huckabee & "Amnesty Amnesia"

Someone gave Congressman Tom Tancredo the illegal alien file on former Gov. Mike Huckabee. He goes right down the list of Huckabee's record in Arkansas. Tancredo seems frustrated that other candidates with questionable or even unacceptable records on his signature issue have attempted to grab it as their own.

Hutchinson Makes Case in Highway Dollars Dispute

State Representative Donna Hutchinson of Bella Vista has taken a lot of heat for challenging the status quo on the distribution of state highway dollars. Some in other parts of the state even accused her of attempting to "steal" their highway dollars. A closer look at the facts shows that what she is doing, if one must use such shrill language as theft, is attempting to recover stolen highway dollars.

The northwest zone of the state produces a disproportionate share of the gas-tax dollars, and then those dollars are usually "redistributed" equally among the zones. It would be kind of like a person with a good job throwing their paycheck in a kitty with nine others who make minimum wage and then dividing the proceeds equally. When the person contributing the most decides they would like to keep more of the money they earned, the others jump on him for "stealing" "their money".

Hutchinson makes her case in a press release, and there is a lot of sound logic in it. In fact, some of it sounds like candidate Mike Beebe when he campaigned in Northwest Arkansas and said "the highway dollars should follow the cars." Does anyone remember that? Did the people accusing Donna Hutchinson of attempted theft accuse Mike Beebe of theft when he suggested much the same thing during his campaign for Governor? And will the Governor now move to make policy more like what he said it should be like during the campaign?

The Viguerie Report on Fred Thompson

Richard Viguerie is a long-time conservative icon. He recently researched the record of the newest candidate to enter the race, Fred Thompson. Vigueurie is interested in policy, not how folksy and comfortable a candidate sounds. His fact-heavy report just demolishes the myth of Thompson as some kind of conservative giant. An example paragraph:

"For six of his eight years as a Senator, Thompson ranked in the bottom half of Republican Senators in terms of his commitment to conservatism. What makes this more remarkable is that he served as a Senator from Tennessee, winning his two elections by hefty margins. He didn’t have the excuse that his electorate was liberal, like the electorates of RINO Senators from Oregon, Maine, or Rhode Island. He had a safe seat with a conservative electorate. So when he voted liberal, we have to assume it’s because that’s what he believed."

I would add that the Senate Republicans are not very conservative. To be in the bottom half of that bunch is a pretty sorry show. His entire report is here.

NRA Board Member: "Limit Magazines to 5 Rounds"

You can hear it for yourself on this 3 minute interview. This gentleman is from a law enforcement background and he feels like only people who work for the government ought to have assault rifles with more than a five round magazine.

The NRA moves closer and closer to being co-opted by statist forces. There are other gun rights organizations out there who have not been compromised.

I have often thought that President Hillary Clinton will attempt to de-arm us by going for the ammo first. Maybe they ban magazines over five rounds first. Then they might say "no one has a need for over 100 rounds of ammunition" and make it a crime to possess more. When they come for your "excess" ammo, will you give it to them all at once or one round at a time?

Who Won the Debate? FAUX News Won't Tell

*******************************

I will rate how I think the candidates did shortly. Of course, we want to hear from you as well. Before I do I can't help but express my disgust at FOX News. Conservatives, they are not your buddy. Ruppert Murdoch owns FOX, which means they are the Chi-coms and globalist's buddy.

This is how lame they are: One study showed they mentioned Mitt Romney's name 16,000 times. In the same period of time that they mentioned Ron Paul's name 248 times. Hunter and Tancredo did not get much more mention than Paul. FOX is the worst about only giving exposure to their self-designated "top-tier". The picture for this article is from a FAUX news story called "Who Won the Debate". Once again they show their "top three" only. The article is just a list of "approved" comments from e-mails to FAUX, so there is no clear answer from the article. What is my problem with this? They used this lame method only as a back-up when the poll they hyped for this thing did not give them the results they wanted. They deep-sixed that one.

Before and during and after the debate, FOX was advertising a text message poll where viewers could text message who they thought won the debate. You won't find the results for it in that article that is entitled "Who Won the Debate". You won't find it anywhere else on the FOX site either. They have a blackout on their own poll results because they did not show what FAUX wanted. When the live results came in, Ron Paul led with 37% saying he won. Guiliani was 2nd with 17%. When they came in Sean Hannity said, and I quote, "Not again!". That was the last we ever saw of the text message poll.

On to who did well and who did not....

Craig Will Beat the Rap, As Will Clinton

Idaho Senator Larry Craig may well beat the rap on his men's room escapades. It looks like some Republicans have learned well from the Clintons. If you just brazen it out and don't care what it does to the country or your party, you can usually get through it.

Hillary Clinton's big donor, Norman Hsu, has failed to appear in court. My guess is that he fled to China, like a lot of Clinton donors did back when Bill Clinton was running. The Chi-Coms must have liked the return on the investment they got from the Clintons, because it looks to me like they are funneling foreign money to Hillary now. She announced that she would "donate the money to charity", but gave only the money that Hsu brought with his name on it. The vast majority of funds he got her came with someone else's name on it, a practice called "bundling". Some of the people Hsu knew that gave the max to Hillary are people of very modest means who have never donated to a candidate before. Just brazen it out.

There is a minority of Americans who are paying attention to what is going on in this country, maybe 5%. And they are seething. They know about the only choice we have is electing leaders that will sell us out to business interests with ties to Mexico (top Republicans) or business leaders that will sell us out to the Chinese (Clinton Democrats). Our only "viable" choices seem to be which country we prefer to be sold to. The majority of Americans are doped up on Prozac or something like it, or are absorbed by pursing trivial amusement or pop culture rubbish. The rest are either victims of circumstances (such as the sell-out) or have made such a mess of their lives that they are in no condition to care about such things.

So there is a seething, informed minority that political leaders on both sides can safely ignore, counting on the ignorance and apathy of the masses to give them cover. Today's ruling class has come to understand that no matter how vile, or even treasonous, their actions, they can brazen it out because the vast majority don't care, and half of those who do only take offense when someone in the OTHER POLITICAL party does it.

Fox Turns on Thompson

I was surprised at the negative tone in this FOX news story. At one point, they had been pumping up Thompson. Now that he is snubbing their debate this evening, and has fired the FOX employee that he hired just over a month ago, they have turned on him.

Why is this a disaster for Thompson? Grassroots people who say they "like Fred Thompson" don't really know Fred Thompson. They say that based on the perception they get of him through media like FOX. If you left off his name and asked most of them if they would vote for a CFR member whose voting record is nearly identical to, though slightly left of, John McCain's and who has spent the last 20 years as a Washington lobbyist they would not think much of him. If you said he lobbied for a pro-abortion group in an effort to get more of their tax dollars, and also lobbied for Haitian dictator John Betrand Aristide they would think even less of him. If Thompson is forced to stand only on his record instead of millions of dollars worth of favorable media coverage, then he is in trouble.

FOX will now go back to trying to force Rudy Guiliani down conservatives' throats.

Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee's Pro Illegal Alien Agenda Unbelievable!

Below are excerpts from three articles that indicate how strongly Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee has promoted the illegal alien agenda.

In one of the earlier Presidential debates, Huckabee's rhetoric would have convinced voters that he was actually tough on illegal aliens, but his actions have proved otherwise.

We have found this information to be shocking to the majority of Republicans who have not closely followed Huckabee's actions, especially when they discover how Huckabee worked directly with the Mexican President to establish a Mexican consulate in Little Rock which is basically used as a conduit for illegals. In the short time the Consulate has been in business, they have issued 4,000 ID cards to Mexicans. It doesn't take a great deal of deductive reasoning to realize that most of those would have to be illegal. http://www.nwaonline.net/articles/2007/08/28/news/082907arhispbank.txt See this link for that article.

Federal law 8 USC Section 1324 says that "Any person who encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States," shall be "fined" or "imprisoned not more than 5 years or both." Then how could it be legal or ethical for a Governor to help establish a Mexican Consulate to help Mexican illegal aliens reside in this country when even a citizen of the US can be imprisoned for such action? See this link for more details on this law. http://law.onecle.com/uscode/8/1324.html

This should remind all of us to look behind the words and find the actions of all who run for office. We understand that only 40% of Republicans even know that Rudy Giliani is pro abortion. We need to stay informed!

Huckabee: ‘Race-baiting ’ behind immigration bill
This story was published Friday, January 28, 2005
Excerpts"

Gov. Mike Huckabee said Thursday that a bill to deny state government benefits and voting rights to illegal immigrants is "inflammatory... race-baiting and demagoguery."

He challenged the Christian values of its main sponsor. "Holt often talks of his strong Christian beliefs, but Huckabee singled him out, ! saying, "I drink a different kind of Jesus juice. My faith says don’t make false accusations against somebody. In the Bible, it’s called ‘Don’t bear false witness.’""

The governor said Holt’s plan to deny prenatal care to illegal immigrants goes against their shared anti-abortion principles — that unborn fetuses should have a citizen’s right to life." Illegal immigrants "can’t vote, can’t collect Social Security benefits," Huckabee said.

"Huckabee has proposed that the state allow undocumented immigrants who complete their public education in Arkansas to eligible for college scholarships.

Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee lobbied for Mexican Consulate

Huckabee lobbied for the Mexican Consulate Office in Little Rock

Following excerpts taken from newspaper article "NWA’s Hispanic numbers help land Mexican consulate office" Arkansas Democrat Gazette, October 15, 06 at this link: . http://www.nwanews.com/adg/Business_Matters/169828/

Posted on Sunday, October 15, 2006
“'When Gov. Huckabee visited, they talked about the possibility of a consulate in Little Rock. After he left, the government began working on it,' Chao said. Volumes of paperwork and many steps had to be completed before the consulate could be established, he said.

"Securing the consulate in Arkansas, rather than allowing it to go to Tennessee was important, Trevino said.

“Gov. Huckabee realized early on that states with Mexican consulates have done very well tradewise with Mexico. We did research and talked with the officials, we saw right away that we needed to be in play for the consulate,” he said."

Perhaps Twin City Bank needs to hear from Arkansans, and perhaps the people in the rest of the nation need to know how Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee's actions on illegal alien issues contrast with his rhetoric..

Mexican Consulate Issued 4,000 ID's/ Bank Takes Mexican ID's, Joining Other Chains

Excerpts from following article: "Twin City Bank in Little Rock has joined other chains in accepting identification cards issued by consulates to Mexicans living abroad...The bank also provides tax identification numbers to customers that don't have Social Security cards... The consulate has issued 4,000 matricula consular cards and passports since it opened--a nearly overwhelming response for his 10 member staff... Mexico estimates it received $23.1 billion in U.S. remittances in 2006." (Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee lobbied for the Mexican Consulate Office in Little Rock.)

Bank Takes Mexican IDs, Joining Other Chains

Below are excerpts from this article that can be found online at this link: http://www.nwaonline.net/articles/2007/08/28/news/082907arhispbank.txt
"Since, Twin City Bank began accepting the matricula consular, an identification card issued by consulates to Mexicans living abroad. Twin City's decision puts the Pulaski County banking chain in line with its counterparts in Arkansas that accept the cards as a means to open bank accounts and transfer money to family members still living in Mexico....

"The matricula consular cards include a photograph of the individual, a government seal and holographic image. Any Mexican citizen can receive one at a consulate by showing a birth certificate and other identifying documents their residency.

"Consul Andres Chao said the consulate has issued 4,000 matricula consular cards and passports since it opened -- a nearly overwhelming response for his 10-member staff.

"The bank also applied to join the Federal Reserve's Automated Clearing House, a system allowing its branches to send money from clients to approved banks in Mexico, Hardcastle said.

That's a service that could draw more Mexican customers to the bank, as extra money often finds it way back to families still living there. Mexico estimates it received $23.1 billion in U.S. remittances in 2006. [That is $23.1 billion spent in Mexico instead of helping the economy in the US]

The bank also provides tax identification numbers to customers that don't have Social Security cards. Customers can use that number on an account as long as it doesn't earn interest.

"Hardcastle said the bank, which quietly rolled out its new programs, has not received any criticism for reaching out to Mexican immigrants, a state with one of the fastest-growing Spanish-speaking communities in the nation."

Maybe they should hear some complaints. Below are the emails for managers of 16 Twin City Banks. Here is the link where their names can be found: http://www.twincitybank.net/a_location.htm#maumelle

Forced Career Choice - Latest Fad in Education

In 1997, Congressman Henry Hide hosted a conference on Goals 2000 and School-to-Work in Washington, DC, which was sponsored by eleven national organizations. The purpose of the conference was to educate legislators and their staffs about these concerns. Fifteen nationally known speakers (including US and state representatives and senators, journalists, and authors) addressed the issue of School To Work. Keep in mind as you read the following article the written words of Congressman Henry Hyde.

"All future federal funding for education support President Clinton's Goals 2000 plan, a plan which enables federal agencies to control the nation's workforce. School-to-Work chooses careers for every American worker. Children's careers are chosen for them by Business Councils and federal agencies at the earliest possible age. In some cases that is third grade. Goals 2000 utilizes America's educational system as the infrastructure for the nationalization of the labor force in the United States."

This education fad below is just one more step toward the nationalization of the labor force in the US. Following article by Phyllis Schlafly, Eagle Forum

"Every few years a new fad sweeps across the public schools. We've had self-esteem, new math, whole language, New Age, outcome-based education, school-to-work, mental health screening, school-based clinics, global education, diversity, multiculturalism, and early childhood education.

"The newest public school fad was announced last week on the front page of the New York Times, so educators must be taking it seriously. If it hasn't come to your town yet, no doubt it will come soon.

"Freshmen at Dwight Morrow High School in New Jersey, starting this fall, must declare a major, and they must take at least one course in that subject every trimester for four years. The major will be noted on their diploma.

"How many kids between the ages of 14 and 18 do you think ever change their minds about what they like and don't like? Let's rephrase my question: do you know any teenagers who don't change their minds frequently?

"Most teens have a hard time deciding what to wear, what to eat, and with whom they will go to the prom. Probably most students haven't even selected their lifetime career when they start college.

"But at Dwight Morrow, those who change their minds are out of luck. If they find they don't like their original choice, they can't change unless they produce a "compelling reason," but even that may not be sufficient.

"In preparation for this "choose major" plan, students were asked to write essays about what they wanted to specialize in. The most popular subject chosen was sports management.

"The Times quoted a girl named Akelia who at 14 declared she wanted to be a lawyer, but after two years realized how much work she would have to put in studying "boring" cases, so she tried to switch to computers. Alas, she found she was locked into her major and not permitted to change.
